Once a low-key girl, who couldn't pronounce Badgley Mischka on the red carpet in 1998, actress Katie Holmes underwent an amazing style transformation after her marriage to Hollywood hunk Tom Cruise. A strong style influence from close friend and fashion maverick Victoria "Posh" Beckham is also said to have acted as a major catalyst in Katie’s transformation from a small town girl to today’s trend setter and fashion icon.

The highly publicised affair of TomKat, as media prefers to call them, began in 2005. The 16 years difference between the two and the fact that Tom was planning his third marriage made many people skeptical about their relationship. The couple was madly in love though (and still is to this day). Not minding the age difference, the self-proclaimed “honest, determined, and imaginative” Katie accepted to be Tom’s third wife when he proposed her atop Paris's Eiffel Tower. On April 18, 2006, Holmes gave birth to their daughter, Suri and on November 18, 2006, she and Cruise were married in Italy.

Since her wedding, fashionistas have noticed a huge transformation in Katie Holmes in terms of her style and her looks. The blush of a happy married life is there for sure, but what is absolutely astounding is her makeover from a simple girl to glamorous fashion icon. Her fashionable hair cuts, designer outfits, and ultra-chic high heels have made her the most talked about celeb mommy. But Katie is also said to have worked hard and spent lots to get her ravishing A-list looks. Recently it was stated that Katie underwent a $43,000 makeover during a trip to Tokyo. The trip reportedly consisted of “intensive pampering sessions by a team of beauty experts.”

Best friend Victoria Beckham is said to be a major influence behind Katie’s new über chic look. A hot glamorous woman who’s every dress and every shoe is anxiously covered by paparazzi, Posh Beckham has reportedly given several tips on dressing and styling to Mrs. Cruise.

The former Dawson's Creek star, Katie was fascinated with Victoria’s style and transformed herself accordingly. However, it was stated that ‘Posh felt rather uncomfortable that her style was being mimicked so literally.’ After having long locks for most of her career, Katie went for a 'Pob' cut - the Posh version of a bob - in 2007 - nine months after Victoria lost her hair extensions. Though the Batman Begins star in her recent campaign pictures for Miu Miu won kudos for her outfits, expression, makeup and hairstyle, she was also accused of stealing Victoria's style. Observers are noting that Victoria Beckham is finding it hard to remain friends with Katie Holmes because she feels Tom’s other half consistently swipes her once signature style.

Katie’s love for high heel shoes
Katie is head over heels in love with high heel shoes much to the dislike of her shorter husband. While Katie is 5′9″ Tom Cruise is just 5′ 7″, the two look odd together even when she is wearing flats. And, Tom is reportedly said to feel quite awkward when Mrs. Cruise chooses to tower over him in her vertiginous high heel shoes. Cruise is said to be pilfering his wife’s shoes, to which Katie just shrugs and says, “Well, he’s given me another reason to go shopping for another pair!”

Like her BFF Victoria Beckham who tots five inch plus heels even while she takes her three boys to park, Katie too does not stop herself from wearing spindly stiletto shoes even when she has to carry little Suri in her arms. Crazy about heels, Katie has also been spotted wearing high heels on the beach.

Katie Holmes’ shoe size is said to be 11 inches and her feet aren't as pretty as her face, as her toes are rather long and knobbly. However, she covers up her secret by wearing some of the most impressive and sexy shoes available. Some of the most famous shoes Katie wears are the cracked metallic bronze pumps by Jimmy Choo which she wore at the War of The World premiere, Stuart Weitzman pumps she wore at the SAG awards, “St. Tropez” gladiator sandals by Yves Saint Laurent, Azzedine Alaïa peep-toe ankle boots, patent leather sky-high stiletto platforms, and black cut-out/gladiator  peep-toe pumps.

Katie’s top favourite shoes are bright blue-heeled shoes, vintage red-beaded shoes, Christian Louboutin Mary Jane flats, sexy red spiked heeled shoes, braided sandals, Chanels, Lanvin, Roger Vivier, Alexander Mcqueen, Balenciaga, Giorgio Armani and Hogan.

Suri too wears designer shoes like her mom
Katie’s cute little daughter Suri is already a fashion icon too. The celebrity mom is said to have ordered a pair of custom high fashion Christian Louboutin shoes for Suri when she was just 18-month-old. Now, that Suri is three, her cute bob haircut, sun dresses and shoes are as discussed as her moms. Suri does not yet wear high heel shoes, but glamorous mom Katie Holmes can often been spotted running comfortably after her in her designer sky-high shoes.
