How To Love Your Perfume (Ladies)

When a woman packs her purse or pocketbook certain items are a must to have. Items like a pocket mirror, lipstick, eyeliner, or make-up to name a few. Of course nowadays it may include pepper spray and a small (feminine) handgun. And all men should be thankful our ladies consider these things necessary. However these items provide the public only a visual blessing. On the other hand there's one other item that the ladies incorporate in their beautification that is invisible to the naked eye but permeates any room it's present with a delicious fragrance. And that item of course is "Perfume". From the crowded elevator to the intimacy of the bedroom perfume rules supreme and is always a welcome addition to any setting.

Buying perfume is for many ladies more than just a purchase. It is instead a serious soul searching mission. Each woman being a unique gift from God knows that somewhere out there is a perfume fragrance perfectly suited for her adornment. The special scent of a woman perfumed has driven mankind crazy for uncountable centuries. And it shall never end as long as dogs bark and cats meow. Thus women determined to find that one and only needed perfume sacrifice their time, risk their lives, and enter the Mall willing to shop till they drop to find this liquid treasure.

Perfume is often costly and for this reason a perfumes fragrances unique scent should be expected to last a good long time. The integrity of the perfume can be diminished for a number of reasons. Simple things like room temperature, light, how often used (oxygen damage), and what kind of container it is kept in will effect the well being of the perfume.

Now the ladies don't have worry too much about the room temperature in most homes. However perfumes are flammable so precaution should be taken not to place or store them close to a working stove, a heater, heating vents, or anywhere abnormally high temperatures are present. Along with perfume being a potential fire hazard overheating the fragrant mixture can cause natural ingredients and added chemicals to preserve it to dissolve and cause serious damage.

Catering to the whims of the ladies perfume manufacturers spend thousands of dollars on designing and creating attractive eye appealing containers for their products. With that being the case it is only natural that someone who enjoys the luxury of having many perfumes would line them up where their individual ornate crafted glass vials could be easily admired. However if this is done be sure that they are not influenced by over exposure to sunlight or bright lamps. Being overexposed to light can discolor the fluid and weaken the scent.

Let's face it perfume is of no meaningful value unless it is used. How else can its magical qualities be shared with the rest of the world. Yet the very act of applying perfume shortens the longevity of it. When first purchased the bottles is sealed air tight at the place of origin to secure their integrity. But from the very first time it's used that air tight seal is gone. And each time thereafter the volume of air remaining in the bottle when recapped grows. This introduction of oxygen starts a slow and steady chemical change to the perfume. This change in chemical composition actually makes the scent different. And alas that once perfect and personal scent gradually falls from grace.

In spite of all the ways ones perfume can be damaged and lose an enduring shelf life there is still hope. Be sure that the perfumes purchased (especially the expensive ones) are in aluminum containers or kept in their original packing. Putting your perfume in an atomizer may not be a good practice. If possible purchase fragrances that are applied in an aerosol fashion. Aerosol containers aren't subject to the negative problems light or oxygen contributes. Be warned though they are extremely sensitive to high temperatures and can explode.

From Cleopatra to Helen of Troy on up thru the ages to Oprah the feminine weapon of choice has been perfume. By knowing how to properly care for ones perfume will allow this pleasing commodity the opportunity to be cherished and shared often and long. Now if the ladies could only convince men that cologne wasn't invented as an excuse for not bathing.
