KATMANDU will be donating 5 percent of its profits from the KAT 101 retractable banner stand to the Sierra Club

How Green is your company really?

Recently, there have been many companies communicating how "green" they are. In some cases, companies are truly sensitive to the needs of the environment while many other organizations are treating the "green" purely as a marketing tactic to take advantage of current changes with regards to attitude and world changes with regards to the Environment.

The KAT 101 comes pre loaded with dye sublimated ECO fabric and is 33 inches wide and 78 inches tall. Companies are looking at the KAT retractable made from recycled aluminum and comes pre loaded with earth friendly recycled fabric and water based dye.
The weight of the Kat has been cut to also help with shipping and the whole unit with fabric weighs less that 11 pounds. Katmandu will be donating a percent of its profits from the Kat-101 to the Sierra Club.

Katmandu has been shipping state and local agencies the KAT 101 and the new KAT 501 which is a 60 inch retractable banner stand and both come pre loaded with eco friendly dye sublimated fabric. The reaction has been very pleasing as we are finding that companies are beginning to care about the earth. The Kat line of products are all made from recycled aluminum and ECO friendly recycled dye sublimated fabric and we feel it makes a difference.

Retractable banner stands were invented by Expand International who today makes the best hardware in the world in KatmanduГѓВўГЇВїВЅГЇВїВЅs opinion. Katmandu just believes we make the best software (dye sublimated eco fabric) and have combined it with a good retractable banner stand and have the best value offered today.

The features are outstanding a medium weight retractable banner stand that has a smooth pull and retraction that has washable long lasting eco fabric that is dye sublimated with water based dye that is eco friendly and the unit is priced below the market price of most units printed with vinyl or poly paper.
ГўпїЅВў Environ2ГўпїЅВў Fabric ГўпїЅпїЅ Our new KAT 101 uses the highly sought-after Environ2ГўпїЅВў fabric made from 66% post-consumer fiber! This fabric is a truly stunning fabric that is both exceptionally high quality AND eco-friendly. Being made from post-consumer waste means less impact on our environment for every banner created!
ГўпїЅВў Bio-degradable ГўпїЅпїЅ This is such a huge bonus that I felt it needed to be mentioned separately! The Environ2ГўпїЅВў material is also bio-degradable - which means that even if something happens to cause your banner to be disposed of irresponsibly, the fabric will break down into the soil!
ГўпїЅВў Water-Based Inks ГўпїЅпїЅ All inks used in creating our new Eco-Banners are water-based inks that are non-toxic and safe for the environment, while at the same time allowing us to create brilliant colors, crisp images and high resolution printing. We see no need to compromise on the quality of your banner while maintaining the highest quality image and presentation possible.
ГўпїЅВў Recycling Program - Additionally a pilot-program is now being tested, looking towards issuing credits to banner owners who return their fabric to the printer for recycling. Any returned fabric will be recycled.
ГўпїЅВў Reusable Base - Your banner is fully interchangeable, so simply remove your banner from the base (it slides out), and send it back to us and KATMANDU will issue you a credit towards a new banner! When your new banner arrives, just slide it back into your base and you're all set to go!
ГўпїЅВў Dye-Sublimation Printing - This process permanently bonds the water-based printing ink directly into the fabric, ensuring the highest quality image possible and a durable finish that can withstand the knocks and bumps of traveling to trade shows.
ГўпїЅВў Superior Image Quality and Brightness WITHOUT the 'Sheen' of Vinyl - Dye-sub printing also gives you the highest possible picture quality and color brightness... without the 's hine' that vinyl banners suffer from. This means your message is targeting the most people at all times, and not 'glaring' in the lighting of your trade-show or retail outlet
ГўпїЅВў Roll up the fabric with no concern over whether the edges will begin to fray, or the image begins to separate from the banner. Vinyl banners suffer from a number of imperfections when used over a period of time. The image can lift away form the banner, the edges can tend to fray if not sealed properly and the quality of the print can begin to suffer. Always know your banner is looking its best and reflecting the quality of your company when it 's time to use it.
ГўпїЅВў Stable and Sturdy - The KAT 101 also features a stability foot that does not take away from the ascetics and do not be fooled this is maybe the best value on the market.

away from the ascetics and do not be fooled this is maybe the best value on the market.
Our Policy on Ecological Sustainability

Everything we do impacts upon our planet. Katmandu takes this responsibility very seriously and strives to see that our materials, processes and recycling activities leave the smallest possible ecological footprint.

Our approach is to look at ГўпїЅпїЅ and objectively measure -the overall ecological toll. That evaluation goes all the way downstream from initial production, to life extension and all the way to disposal at the end of the productГўпїЅпїЅs life.

This is why Katmandu has chosen to specialize in the use of flame retardant modified polyesters: that is ECO friendly, perform better, last longer, are less expensive and have a lighter impact upon our environment.

Safety, of course, is the most important criterion. When printing, we employ a dye sublimation process that does not interfere with the polyester materialГўпїЅпїЅs ability to retard flame & is significantly gentler on our planet than other printing methods. Further, when exposed to flame, modified polyester gives off far lower levels of toxic fumes than topical flame retardant treated products, and lasts the life of the fabric.

Do not look for vacuum or chimney evacuation ducts in our building, they do not exist and the reason for that is we do not need them as what we print is non toxic and the vapor produced is steam. DO not confuse dye sublimation with direct to print there is a world of difference.
