Using Classified Ads To Bring Traffic To Your Website

Classified ads are a great way to promote your website or product. There are several online and offline classified websites and newspapers that you can advertise in. A small classified ad in the right place can generate several responses or leads a day. Many classified ads on the internet are free and other are paid. Some newspapers and local newspaper or penny savers will allow some free advertising in some categories. For this article, I will advertise a product for free using 100% free advertising.

My very first stops after I do a quick search on Google and a quick search on yahoo is us free ads. They have a very clean website and easy to follow navigation. I like this site the best of all the free classified I tried. It takes me about 5 minutes to place an ad from start to finish. The thing I like the best about the site is you can place html ads. I can whip up a quick ad on front page, drop in a newsletter sign up form or lead collection form and post it. My little ad with usfreeads works around the clock bringing me prospects to my email box. I notice I get more hits to a Classified ad then I do say a well designed page on hub pages or squidoo. I feel that this simple method of promotion if often overlooked by most internet marketers. You can also place a featured ad and you will get a listing that higher up on the page.

A pretty cool ads site I also found was ad-to-ad. I read the url as "adtoad" when I first looked at which is kind of funny if you think about it. The site ad To ad is also a very good site for placing free ads. Very much like usfreeads, it is pretty easy to place an ad on the site. The navigation is pretty easy on the site and you can place an ad very quickly. I did not sign up for a premium membership so I did not get to explore all the features this website has to offer. I do believe this site it worth placing a free ad to see how they work for you. You can also place a featured ad and you will get a listing that higher up on the page just like the other site I mentioned above.

Another website I like to mention here if Traffic Swarm. Traffic Swarm isn't really what I consider a classified ad website as more of what I call a free for all site. The site is free for starters so I know everyone like that price. You have to sign up for the service and then you are allowed to place ads on their website. The idea is to set your home page to Traffic Swarm instead of say google or yahoo. Every time you as a member of Traffic Swarm do a page load you receive a free credit to show your ads on the Traffic Swarm network. I do about 30 page loads a day because I like to work with several windows open at the same time. It is not uncommon for me to have a few files and several windows doing uploads and downloads all going on at the same time. For all this I get rewarded several credits every month because I am a member. I have several ads placed with them so I get exposure to my ads everyday across the traffic Swarm network.

When placing you ads it is best to put all your pictures in a single file on your desktop. It also helps to place all your headlines on a single text file also with your referring url. This way you can simply cut and paste your text ad, html and url quickly on the ad form. When finished, you can upload your photo and you are finished. Small graphics like 100x 100 pixel size works best and you can easily your photos right on your desktop using windows office or a free picture resize. In closing, free advertising can be cost effective if you have time to promote your website but not a lot of revenue. When I achieve free sales from my ads, it is a good idea to invest in premium memberships and featured ads for better exposure and more sales and leads.
