How To Carve A Niche Against Tough Competition

Niche marketing effectively has a way of overcoming tough economic times. Tough competition and recession go together. With more businesses competing for what looks like a shrinking market of people to sell to, how can the average business with an average product or service compete?

Today's educated consumer will flock to the business who can offer them unique ways to make their buying experience easier.

In today's fast pace economy, people are no longer loyal to a company just because they've been in business for 25 years. Today's consumer has a serious - what have you done for me lately attitude. Having a solid niche program in place can help you with this challenge.

People aggressively search for companies who provide niche ideas, products and services that meet their specific needs. They also want products and services that meet their current needs at the best price.

What if you offered an instructional video where they could look over your shoulder while you demo the product?

2. Find Ways To Out-Quick Your Competition.

People want it fast. What do they want fast? You name it. People hate to wait and the business that can service them so they can get back to their to-do list will have a powerful edge.

In that cases where you expect to wait, can you make other aspects of the ordering process faster? For example, can you get first samples back faster, can you make ordering faster or easier, use your imagination.

3. Find Little Ways To Raise the Bar.

A quick way to carve a niche against tough competition is to look for little things your competition doesn't like to do. Next, you find a way to do it or do it better.

Search for actions your competition can't do because their too big. Yes, you can use your smallness to your advantage. For example, if you discovered a new way to attract customers you could do it immediately.

You could make immediate changes, while your larger competitors are holding meetings and waiting for approval from the home office.
