Workplace Attire: Do You Need to Wear Silk Ties?
Casual workplaces are usually more relaxed but it can also be a chance for some dreadful fashion choices. Men can have as many dark suits and ties and always look good in his office outfit. But the dawn of casual Fridays has made dressing for work another drawback for mens careers. One can easily fall back to wearing chino or khaki trousers just to save the day, but one would agree that wearing a great pair of jeans, a well cut sports coat along with a tie is by far more liberating and is really pleasing to look at. This kind of look has been here for a while; however, one must out in a lot of effort just to the preferred effect. Wearing jeans is not really as easy as pulling the closest pair you can find and grabbing a blazer from the closet. You have to consider the environment of your office, the people who will see you in your jeans and the jeans you would wear. And wearing those old pair of jeans you have broken into over the years is definitely not the best idea.
The dos of wearing jeans to the office
It is always a must to wear dark denims. Dark coloured jeans are more professional and they look more refined when worn with a blazer and dress shoes. Light coloured jeans may look outdated or a little too casual. So do not be afraid to wear dark jeans even if they have button fly closure like the ones from Taylor Jynx. They got a button fly and dark blue wash, but they also have modern cuts that would go well with sweaters and dress boots.
Straight leg cuts are best
Sometimes you can wear a boot cut jean to your office, but straight cut jeans are still the best anytime. Straight cuts permit you to pair them up with different kinds of footwear from loafers to dressy oxfords. And most importantly, though you may pay a high price for a well made pair of these kind such as ones from Hugo Boss, you can still get more wear time over the years especially of they are traditionally straight-leg cut. You can always improve your look with progressive shoes such as dress sneakers from Ferragamo which looks like a dress oxford yet they have a sport shoes technology for a more comfy fit.
Wear jeans that fit you like a good pair of chinos
Though they are denims and jeans, they should still fit you like a pair of casual trousers if you are thinking of wearing them to work. They should fit well but it is neither too loose nor too tight in the seat. Look for a nice-fitting pair of chinos and use it as a guide in finding denim that you can wear for work. Then look for add-ons such as the Trigger jeans that have an antique wash that give just enough style for you to appear contemporary.
Think about the coat you will wear
Also consider the shade and style of the sports coat that you will wear. Though a sport coat or a dark blue blazer is a must when wearing jeans, there are also some great accent accessories that you can use with such as a thick belt with a buckle that stands out.
The donts of wearing jeans to the office
Do not wear something that you will also wear to a night club. Jeans having elaborate stitching on the rear will do great for clubs and concerts, but really, they have no place in an office. Any stitching or accents that highlights any part of you body is better left off for the weekend.
Do not wear jeans that will make you look sloppy such as ragged jeans with frayed cuffs.
And last, do not wear jeans that are too baggy or too tight. You must never put your boss or clients in an embarrassing position of seeing too much or considering telling you to maybe pull up your pants.
