Every Day is the Opportunity to Begin Again

It's past midnight as I write this -- it's been a long, busy day. I feel drained from tending to three ill children. Their illness has not kept the other day-to-day tasks from needing to be done. The shopping, the cleaning, the laundry, the business.......

The business -- do you rate yourself at the end of the day in your business? Do you ponder on what got done or what didn't get done? Do you kick yourself for what didn't get done? Do you belittle yourself? Do you think about giving up? Do you wonder if you should have begun at all?

STOP IT AND STOP IT NOW!

You cannot change the past; you can only live in the present and plan for the future. There are far too many things out of your control to place your entire future - the future of your family - in the hands of today......life happens and you must be able to move with it. Don't stop for it or you won't get anywhere.

I love the word SURRENDER. Far too many people think of surrendering as "giving up". To me surrendering means to "give in". When I give in to the demands of the day and accept that I may not be able to change them, I find peace and getting back on track happens easily. When I try to control that which I have no control over, I am in conflict and it may take days or even weeks to get back on track. Time that may be precious to my business.

When you have a family and are building a business sometimes you must surrender to the family schedule, which you may have no control over. What CAN you do that will work within that schedule? Whatever that may be -- BE OKAY WITH IT. I hear so many people say that they have no control over this thing or that -- perhaps not but what do they have control over? Focus on what you CAN control and let the Lord handle the rest.

The Lord blesses us with a new day EVERYDAY. What a wonderful gift. A gift that is ours every day. This precious gift He gives us so that we can move forward not so we can dwell on what happened yesterday. Yesterday is over. It is gone -- don't try to make it stay -- you can't change it. Let it go. Move forward. Choose to move forward. Choose to accept the gift of TODAY. There are no strings attached. What can you do with today?

I choose to do better today. I choose to do more today. I choose to keep my priorities straight today. I choose to learn from yesterday's mistakes but then I will choose to throw out the trash. The trash that clutters my mind and keeps me from focusing on today. I choose to center myself and grow my business. I choose to embrace today and give it my all. I choose to stretch and grow. I choose to be coachable. I choose to surrender to my purpose.

What can you do TODAY? Make today the new day it's supposed to be. Start today fresh -- it's new -- you haven't spoiled it yet. Plan wisely but don't set everything in stone. Be flexible and move with life -- you might be surprised what gift you are given........a new lead, a sale you hadn't thought about, a new friend, confidant, a closer relationship with family, more peace, more joy, more life, more freedom, more time, more focus.

Begin again -- EVERY DAY!
