Get Leads Without Cold Calling

I don't know how many of you have ever been involved in cold calling, but it really is horrid. Not only are some people really nasty when you call them on the phone, but most of them aren't interested anyway to begin with. Its like blindly picking people's names out of the white pages, calling them up, and actually expecting them to give a hay what you have to say. It's unreliable, unrealistic, and it just plain sucks! So how do you go about getting leads without doing cold calling? Or without intruding upon people that have no interest in what your selling? Well there are a few ways you could look into, and these ways are going to be listed below! Some of these you may have heard of and some may be brand spanking new to you, either way, I really hope to help someone out there to start generating the leads they need, after all, leads equal sales!

And that's why you got into this business in the first place right?!? So let's get started:

Opt-in mailing lists -
Not only is this a great way of getting leads that are interested in whatever your selling, but it's also a great way to get people in general. Once you get people on your list to trust you, you can then start sending them other things related to what they originally signed up for. For example, I have a writing business, and I designed a special opt-in page for people that already bought from me, now once these people trust me and see I am legit, I can start sending them other emails about other things, such as affiliate programs regarding content such as White Smoke, or Ezine Articles, or whatever other program I am affiliated with that is relevant to writing or to content. Getting opt-ins is pretty easy, the main point is to get people TO your site.

Forums, Message Boards, Classified Ads -
You would probably be surprised to know that I make almost 95% of my sales from forums alone, in the service or marketplace sections. But I also have made small percentages of my sales from forum signatures, message board sigs, and classified ads. Another thing you could try would be safelists which are increasingly popular!

Buy Leads -
Buying leads can get expensive but your almost guaranteed that they will sign up for, buy, or join whatever it is your "selling" because these leads are usually valuable targeted leads that want to receive information from someone in your niche. For instance, if your niche is food, you will only get people that are interested in recipes, food, wine, vegetarian, etc. You won't, however, get people interested in automotive because it's obviously no longer targeted or relevant!

Obviously these are just a few of the most important ways, but they are the ways I get leads for my business. There are a lot of people out there that boast about buying visitors from targeted groupings, but thus far, I have had no such luck with these types of sites. If you can find one that will give you great conversions go for it. A conversion is what's important in these instances because if you spend money, you're going to want to also make money back, right? Its like with any other form of advertising, if you are going to spend money at Site A you want to make sure you're making a certain percentage of profit back. And if you're not then you want to move on to the next site. Leads are an essential part of any website, and you need to make sure you take whatever steps necessary in receiving said leads!
