Have you ever bought leads from an MLM lead vendor?

What was the outcome of this? This is a common practice. But in a minute, you’ll see that this practice is flawed.

And, a lot of multi-level marketers do the same thing. They bounce from company to company, looking for the perfect leads. Have you ever heard them talking about this? Do they talk about the companies they currently use versus the ones they have used in the past? What do they say?

Chances are, they are all saying pretty much the same thing. They are on an endless quest to find the best leads that they can. If you are also in this situation, then you’ll want to read on.

One thing you’ll notice is that network marketers are also looking for leads. They seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly. That is, wherever you find a network marketer, there exists a HUGE need for good, quality leads.

Keep in mind, that the key word here is QUALITY.

So naturally, a lot of people decide to purchase leads from a vendor. But, there are some things to keep in mind.

There is a danger to buying leads. There are some things you don’t know. And if you ignore then it can definitely hurt you.

First off, that buying leads reduces your marketing leverage in a big way. This is because good leads are the lifeblood of your business. But by hiring a company to give you leads, you hand that lifeblood to someone else.

This is not good.

Your business lives and dies by your ability to market. Your ability to market depends on your leads. Plain and simple. And without the right leads, your efforts will lead you nowhere fast.

But if you find the right marketing channels and compile a list with good, quality leads, things will be a lot easier. This means that you CAN be terrible at following up on the phone with your leads. But if they are the RIGHT leads and you’ve obtained them through great marketing channels, you can still clean up.

But, it doesn't work the other way around.

In fact, if you buy leads you’re forced into getting REALLY good at phone sales. If that’s something you enjoy, more power to you.

Here’s a little risk you should be aware of.

The quality of the leads that you buy will definitely vary. If a lead company grows large enough that they have to begin outsourcing their lead generation to other vendors, they no longer have quality control. That means that a good majority of your leads may be duds if you go with a company like that.

These companies just buy leads and then resell them to you and me.

That's why you always hear network marketers saying:

"X company’s leads used to be good, but these days the quality really has gone down."

This has been a real problem.

What happened is that the company gave up quality control and you and I paid the SAME price. Not such a great deal. The value of the leads certainly went down.

Inevitably this leaves network marketers jumping from lead company to lead company to lead company, looking for those "perfect" leads.

The RISK is once you buy leads you give up quality control. Once a lead company gets large enough they outsource their lead generation. In doing so, they give up their quality control channels.

So, you may ask, "Who's really checking the quality?"

That's why, my method, the method that has worked for me like clockwork, has been to take all the guesswork out of lead generation and control it myself.

Think about it. If you do that, then the quality control is right where it should be.

Right in your own hands.

This is the most important aspect of your business. There is an art and science to learning about lead generation. It may take a little while to learn the tricks, but once you do – you will not be met with wasted efforts. You will have a good, quality list.

Handle this idea with care and your business will flourish. But if you hand it over to someone else, well… Let’s just say things could get frustrating really quickly.

The bottom line is, if you want to succeed, you need to generate your own leads.
