Business Success Requires Excellence

Success and excellence go hand in hand. Always give the best you have to give. Great service should show up in everything you do. Strive for the best you can be in all you do weather it is in business, family life, friendships or community service. Providing the best service possible is the first step to excellence. People will respond to your level of service and it will come back to you in more ways than you can ever imagine.

Be a good listener. Always give the other person the room to say what is on their mind. Do not interrupt, even if you are interrupting to agree with them. As you interrupt, weather you are agreeing or disagreeing, you are sending a message to their subconscious mind that you are not listening to them.

Even as you are listening to them, try not to be thinking of what you want to say. Instead try to really be in the moment and listen to them. Hear every word, and then acknowledge what they have said. This will let the other person know that they have been heard and they will feel a sense of excellence about you. They will have a greater respect for you and you just might learn a lot more if you listen better.

Speak with enthusiasm. Your voice says so much about your level of excellence. When you speak, be in the moment, be authentic. End your sentences with as much enthusiasm as you start them. Follow through with your thoughts and speak the punctuations. Enjoy the art of conversation. Learn to express yourself easily and precisely. Your voice can have the power to reach and connect with people. It is a tool for excellence and a sign of self confidence.

Be aware of your body language. Hold your self tall; bring your shoulders away from your ears. Relax all the muscles in your face. Sit and stand in awareness. Your body language says so much about your commitment to excellence so be in control of it in a relaxed fluid yet refined manner.

Dress for success. Always present yourself in clean, pressed attire. Solid color suits with coordinated shirts or blouses will give the right impression. Sensible shoes are key to your look as well as your posture, and always see to it that they are polished. Make sure that your hair is well groomed and neat. Do not over do the makeup, cologne or perfume. Keep the jewelry tasteful. Dressing for success will give an impression of a successful professional.

As the saying goes “attitude is everything” Be a person who always shows a good attitude. Be cheerful, think of others. The better your attitude the easier it is to handle conflicts. Studies show that people make better decisions and are more creative when they have a positive attitude. People with a good attitude make more money. A good attitude is one of the best skills you can have as people recognize a good attitude just as much as they recognize your level of knowledge. Make it a priority in your life to have a great attitude.

Living healthy will tie it all together. For without good health it is hard to be excellent. It is vital to get your exercise. If you are not one that likes to workout, try to find a form of exercise that you would enjoy, such as a nice brisk walk through your neighborhood. Dancing is also an excellent form of exercise.

Eat as much fresh fruits and vegetables as possible the darker in color the better. Look for all natural supplements as opposed to the synthetic vitamins found on most store counters, and look to natural cures instead of pharmaceuticals when ever possible. Live excellent, live for success.
