LET YOUR HOME BUSINESS SUCCEED AND THRIVE WITH THESE TIPS

Building a successful and profitable business is the dream and goal of every entrepreneur. It is definitely worthwhile, therefore, to take time study the footprints of those who have been wildly successful in their businesses and develop a plan that closely mirrors the strategies they have used.

1) SELL YOURSELF AND NOT YOUR PRODUCT

Research has shown that successful entrepreneurs know the art of building relationships with their prospects as well as their clients. As human beings we all look at life from different points of view. Successful entrepreneurs take this factor into account and make it a habit to study the different types of personalities and understand how each personality trait can be motivated. Successful entrepreneurs can then connect with them on a more deeply personal level.

People connect with people. They do not connect with products, so YOU are the number one reason your business will succeed or fail. Think about this. Have you ever walked into a store with the intent to make a purchase, and then walked right back out again, because you did not ‘connect’ with the salesman? It happens all the time.

If you desire success in your business, you goal should be to learn the art of connecting with heart rather than head, of listening well, and of asking questions in a way that shows your genuine interest in the other individual. When you can do this, you will have access to better business opportunities and your success will increase exponentially.

2) BE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT YOUR PRODUCT

How well do you know your product? The successful entrepreneur knows his product or service well, and can answer any related question with confidence and skill. When you are seen to be an authority on your product or service, you are able to build your prospect or client’s trust, and asking them to join you in your business becomes an easy thing to do.

3) TARGET THOSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE A NEED OF YOUR PRODUCT

Not everyone has a need or a want of what you are offering. To raise your level of success, it is important that you do market research to identify where your potential customers or prospects may exist, know who is competing for your market share, and which markets you should engage in to ensure greater potential profitability for your business.

People buy products or services for three reasons – to satisfy a need, to solve a problem, or to feel good about themselves. Your market research should therefore be devised in such a way as to give you access to this vital information.

When you fully understand your prospects needs, concerns, joys, frustrations, hopes and dreams, you are better able to devise a strategy that will increase your chances of business success as you will now be marketing the right product or service that individual is seeking.

4) TRAINING AND SUPPORT

The greatest fear a prospect has in deciding whether or not to join you in your business is the fear that they may not be able to duplicate your success, and at worst may lose their money in the attempt. And so the burning question arises, how much training and support will you give to help them succeed.

They will join you in your business if they trust that you know what you are doing and that you are a person who acts with integrity. It is now up to you to assist them in learning the business as quickly as possible, and offer all training and support they need to accomplish this.

Advise them of all the marketing plans, training and support your business offers to help them achieve success, and share strategies that are working well for you; after all you sponsored them, and you do owe them the loyalty of being interested in their success.

Too many sponsors do just that-they sponsor and leave their new recruit to flounder on their own. The result is that many of them quit because of overwhelm. Of course, it is understood that helping them does not mean doing everything for them. They are adults and are responsible for their own failure or success.

Make sure you know their “WHY” for joining your business as this will be helpful to you to hold them accountable when the going gets tough and they want to quit, as they sometimes will.

5) KEEP ON KEEPING ON

Every business goes through good times and bad times. You must have staying power to work through the bad times. When you maintain focus, keep your priorities in order, take positive action every day, and remain committed to the success of your business, you can be confident that you will eventually realize the special joys of achieving your goals.
