Using Promotional Tools To Promote MLM & Network Marketing Businesses
Marketing and communicating MLM business ideas to the general public is one of the most difficult tasks in the business world. Whilst it is easy to assume that traditional advertising techniques can be applied to almost all situation, markets, and audiences, this is simply not the case. Additionally, in most instances, people relate differently to MLM business, simply because of the stereotypical nature of the entity.
So, what methods can we use to get around this awkward situation? What alternative advertising mediums can we employ, to carry our MLM idea beyond the inner circle, and in turn - increase the size and prosperity of our network marketing business? Well, in this article, we will analyze just that - and provide a few alternative thoughts from successful MLM owners in the past.
Before we get on to methods that actually work, I want to bring your attention to methods that are now deemed obsolete in the marketing world. Cold calling is one of these methods. Lets face it - the last thing someone wants is to be interrupted in the middle of their meal, listening to you introducing a product, service, or opportunity, when all they really want to do is get back to the family.
Clearly, this wastes time, money, and valuable other resources. Hence - it is a method that takes it's place in the history books as being once successful, but very much so a thing of the past. The same idea applies to door to door visits - especially at inconvenient times.
Ok, so that's enough of the negativeness. How about some strategies which actually work?
I'll begin with a very simple one. Brochures and flyers are probably one of the most useful, yet underused advertising products available to any business owner at the current time. Whilst they do cost a fair bit to print yourself - you may find that the MLM or network marketing company you have signed up to has pre-printed or pre-formatted brochures for you to use.
Utilize this avenue! Hand out as many flyers as you possibly can, and allow people time to review the information supplied. This leaves the decision up to the individual, and hence applies no pressure to the potential business relationship.
Having launched a successful brochure distribution campaign, you can now focus on furthering the success of this with additional reference materials, such as CD's, DVD's, and personalized websites. I won't tell you exactly what to do with these. Instead, I will recommend that you follow up any enquiry from the brochures with one or all of these three products - at your discretion.
In following the simple steps above - you will have actually already performed one of the most critical tasks in the MLM industry - sales funneling. Thanks to your initial brochure launch, this has effectively filtered out the uninterested people, and allowed the people with genuine interest to get in touch.
Do you see now why this is so much better than cold calling or door knocking? You did so little work, and yet you have generated valuable leads, all of which hold an opportunity for increased business capacity in the future. It's a win-win situation.
So to conclude this short case study - we see that by isolating one advertising medium, and being able to back it up with further resources after the first stage, we are performing multiple tasks in one. This is effectively sparing us more time to work on the fundamental and underlying aspects of our business, with no real sacrifice on the quantity of leads being acquired.
