Giving Adds Value to Your Network Marketing Business

Giving and asking for nothing in return creates more value and worth with a prospect than anything else. Knowing how, when and what to give is the key.

Avoiding the "I" in your conversation and focusing on the "you" is a start but not the entire answer. Realize up front the prospect doesn't care one bit about you, your company, opportunity, products, or compensation plan.

It may sound odd but it's true. Prospects only care about themselves, as it should be. They are only concerned with their wants, needs, desires and what's best for them. You must realize that their primary concern is "what will it do for me?" If you think otherwise then you're wasting your time and the prospect's.

Techniques to Build a Network Marketing Business

First, you must be able to relate with your prospects and understand issues that concern them. If you are unable to visualize and address their issues and concerns then you're wasting your time and theirs.

Then there is the affordability issue and how to make sure your prospect knows what they are getting into without losing them at the same time. The business opportunity must be affordable or you will lose them at the first dollar sign.

Don't rush through the presentation or product demonstrations. Show the prospect why going slowly is important. Knowing what's expected of them will add value to your business, product and help earn their trust.

Allow the prospect a real product and training material test drive. There's much more involved than looking at the business plan. You must make sure the training fits the prospect so you move from the prospect's "telemarketer" column to the "potentially worth my time" side of the relationship.

Make sure the prospect knows they will never be alone. For the new business owner, knowing he is never alone will help move your prospect into the partner category. If someone thinks they're going to invest in your business then be left out in the cold, they are much less likely to invest.

Make sure your prospect understands commitment up front. They must understand that you have a commitment to them just as they have a commitment to the business as well as to themselves. Without commitment, any business is doomed to failure. Network Marketing is no exception.

Have your prospect verify and confirm the information you have provided. This will earn you the trust that is needed for a long term relationship. This simple act of asking them to explain things back to you will show them that you are more interested in their success than other average network marketers.

Help them understand why the industry's one size fits all approach to a business is not for the serious minded. Any serious entrepreneur understands that not all businesses will work for everyone. Demonstrating that you understand this will help build a lasting partnership.

These simple techniques can make all the difference in your business. In order to be successful, you must treat your business like a business, not a hobby. Remember, any serious prospects you come across are looking for a business, not something to occupy their time and maybe make some money on the side.

Your prospects need to know you are there for the long haul and you have a vested interest in helping them succeed. Their success powers your success.
