Make Your Extra Cash Walking Dogs
One of the simplest and most enjoyable ways to make extra cash that you have probably not thought of is by walking dogs. More canine loving people today, than ever before, have dogs for pets.
The fact of the matter is that they are severely pinched for time and do not have the time to walk them because they have so many time consuming issues in their lives.
Some people do not have the time to walk their dog because they are always at work plus they have to bring part of their workload home. Others are too old to keep up but still desperately need their dogs for company and to have a pet to love.
What are these pinched and lonely people to do? Simple enough, they hire someone to walk their dog. Anyone can get started in this canine industry with a little bit of money and time.
Making extra cash walking dogs is very possible if you put in the time to market your services. The biggest problem that people run into is, like any other business, that nobody knows about their services. So no one gets in touch with them about their services. Sort of like winking at a sharp looking girl or guy in the dark. Swell, but your target market has to know about you to ask for your services.
So, as you see, the most important part of making extra cash walking dogs is marketing your services. Of course this is going to take a bit of money up front.
Making business offer flyers and business cards, then passing them out, is a good way to get known. After you get a few recurring clients you will be on your way to making your money back in no time.
One of the most successful places to market your dog walking services is in your local, small town, paper. Take out an ad that is big enough for prospective clients to see. Make sure that your ad is visually appealing, and that you also include good contact information.
Give owners the ability to contact you via phone or email. This way you are accessible and make the task of your clients finding you easy.
If somebody has to go through a lot of trouble getting in touch with you they will probably not even bother. This holds for all and even the best of businesses. In addition, you may want to include your rates in the ad if you think that they are competitive enough to draw in business.
If your rates are slightly higher than the competition, if any, you will not want to display them. Also, adding an incentive to call is also a great way to garner business. Offer a free walk or a discount on the first walk; anything true that will prompt prospective dog owners to get in touch with you.
A dog walking business is more than possible if you market your services correctly. If you can get in touch with a large enough base of customers then making decent money is very easy.
If you want to make money doing this unique venture get started as soon as you can. You may be the only person in your area that offers these services. Then you will have the market and profits all to yourself.
