2008 Challenger Pictures, Specs, And Information

The 2008 Challenger, created by Dodge Mopar, is a beast to be reckoned with. It's sleek appearance and stylish interior are true to the car's classic legacy. Intended to compete with the revival of the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro, this car has had plenty of pressure to bear. The 2008 Challenger comes in a powerful performance-oriented SRT8 trim which boasts an impressive 425-hp 6.1 liter Hemi V8 engine, with an optional (required - in all opinion) manual transmission. Other available options other than the SRT8 Challenger are the always classic R/T model, and the standard "plain Jane", SE model.

The 2008 Challenger not only has a price that everyone can enjoy, but comes with unbeatable performance and style fit for any driver.

The car's design is reminiscent of its classic ancestor created in the early 1970's. It is packed with the usual ABS, Power Steering, Airbags, most of the stuff you would typically find in a sports car, but some features to note are the anti-skid system and a really cool "My Gig" Multimedia system with 20 Gig hard drive. The "My Gig" system is capable of storing your favorite pictures and music allowing you to seek media you want to enjoy with ease. This is not bad, considering it is coming from a retro-style car. It is certainly a new rendition of a classic favorite, providing drivers with a vehicle that looks impressive, and also retains power and performance that could leave any potential driver of the 2008 Challenger, satisfied.

The SRT8 Model was the first Challenger released, having its debut 6 months to a year and a half earlier than what had been expected. Out of these 2008 Challenger SRT8 models, only 6,400 will be built. Shortly after 2008, 10,000 additional Challenger SRT8 vehicles will be available for Challenger enthusiasts. The Interior of the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 includes notable changes, such as: leather seats with added bolstering, stitched accents within upholstery, with a matching-themed orange accent stripe.

The R/T model of the Dodge Challengers offered in 2008 can be looked at as a toned-down version of its superior model, the SRT8, but this does not necessarily mean that it won't provide Challenger enthusiasts with a modern rendition of one of Dodge's classic Muscle Cars. The Challenger R/T comes with added upgrades that allow more power and capability from the standard Challengers offered in 2008. The 2008 Challenger R/T comes with a list price of $29,995. Sitting under the hood of the Challenger R/T is a revised is a powerful 5.7 liter Hemi V-8. The six-speed manual transmission option of the vehicle has a larger amount of power, creating 375 horsepower, whereas the automatic version creates 370 horsepower. The Automatic model produces 398 ft/lbs of torque, and the manual version creates 404 ft/lbs of torque.

Anyone in search for purchasing a new vehicle that not only delivers power and performance, but provides acceptable fuel economy, definitely needs to consider the Dodge Challenger SE. Having a list price starting at $21,995, it is easily a great price for what the Challenger SE comes with. Under the hood, the SE comes equipped with a 250 horsepower 3.5 liter V-6 engine, easily giving power whenever its needed. The Challenger SE runs from 18 miles per gallon in the city, to 25 on the highway, which makes the Challenger a great candidate for notable fuel economy. The SE also runs on 87 octane fuel, but for added performance, 89 octane fuels can be used. The 3.5 liter engine runs with a 4 speed automatic transmission, making the operation of the Challenger SE seemingly simple. For those who desire more control, a manual transmission is optional to provide drivers with more control over their engine.
