I'm not sure if I agree with you here, because I have found since I transitioned to a vegan diet that my skin problems got a lot worse than before. After a whole year of eating soy cheese substitutes, soy mayo, soy burgers, and snacking on soy beans and drinking soy milk, I never once had a problem digesting it, but my acne got worse and worse the longer I kept those levels of soy in my diet. Medications didn't work, topical creams didn't work, changing soaps didn't work either. So after doing some research, I found out that soy may be the culprit. Since then I've removed most of the soy from my diet (I'll still eat it once in a while, but I get my protein from other sources),and my skin has cleared up a lot. I'd say generally speaking, you're right about the health benefits of soy, but if you have an allergy, then beware. Though my own allergy to soy is mild (my own symptoms were mostly cosmetic, and though my acne was painful, it wasn't life threatening), others can experience much more severe symptoms. If you aren't allergic, no worries, but if you are, then this article is the opposite of true.

Personally, I disagree. I have acne and soy skin care products (I use the Aveeno line) along with hydrogen peroxide (a safer alternative to kill acne bacteria) have made my skin look great. I will never stop using skin care products containing soy. In fact, clinical studies show the opposite of what you are claiming - soy CLEARS acne, not CAUSES it. Of course food allergies are another issue. But personally, I have found great relief from acne problems.

"When soy is taken for the first time, the body will activate its immune system and antibodies will be formed. Therefore, the next time you eat soy, you will most likely not experience skin irritation."<br /><br />This is incorrect. If consuming soy causes your body to form antibodies, basically an immune response, this is the beginning of an allergy. The NEXT time you eat soy, you will have an allergic reaction. Acne can be a symptom of a soy allergy. <br /><br />You need to check your facts.
