Before beginning with your project, it is important to know some of the parts and functions of the loom. Warp pegs are the basic parts which are commonly found at the end of the loom. Many looms that are sold commercially have an adjustable warp pegs which is used to adjust the tensions of the warp thread.
The spacer bar is another part of the loom which holds the warp threads to be equally apart from each other. Make sure to choose patterns that constitute the size of the loom.
Basically, you need at least three different types of thread. Make sure that the colors you chose should blend with your chosen pattern in order to achieve the best result. Remember that nylon threads are sturdy but it can easily break while you are working so it is better to choose cotton threads. Threads come in different gauges. You may choose larger threads such as D and F gauge for your warp. For weft, you can use finer gauge which will allow you to fit your beads easier. The Nymo threads are best for this purposes which can be purchased in your local stores. Nymo threads come in variety of colors and sizes which you can choose according to your preference
For your English beading needle, it is important to choose the size which suits the beads you have selected for your project.
For the beads, this is the most important materials since this will be the final output of your project. Choose whichever you prefer but make sure that you choose the beads that fit according to the loom you are going to use.
When you have chosen your beads, you must sort them according to size and shape. This will make your beading loom project a lot easier when you have sorted your beads.
Now that you already have all the necessary materials for your project, it is now time to prepare the warp on your loom. Ensure that you count first the number of beads according to the width of your chosen pattern. You must start warping starting at the outside going towards the inside in order to sustain the tension.
After the preparation of your loom, you can now start with the actual process. As you go along with your first project, you will develop your skills and accuracy. Sooner or later, you will be able to make more advanced designs.
