Nintendo Wii Sports Games

These games I'm speaking about aren't like the game bundle with the golf, tennis, boxing options. Nope. These are real games like skiing, snowboarding, racing, etc. Admit it, all the games and components for Wii are absolutely spectacular, but there is just something really fun about the whole interactive gaming that is brought on by using the Wii. This is one of those consoles if not the only console that will get you up off your couch and on your feet. I know it's different. I know it's unusual. But its fun! It's exciting! It's innovative! And if you're a trendy freak like me you will just follow along with it. After all this system has been out on shelves for over a year and you still have a hard time finding one for "cheap!" The following games are a few of my favorite sports games available on Wii:

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games -
Marking the historic first time these two renowned stars have appeared together in a game, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has players competing in events that take place in environments based on the official venues of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Using a supporting cast of characters from the amazing worlds of both Mario and Sonic, gamers will be able to compete as or against a range of lovable personalities including Mario, Sonic, Luigi, Knuckles, Yoshi, Tails and more. Innovative usage of the Wii control systems to maneuver a favourite character will allow players to race the likes of Mario and Sonic down the 100m track, engage in exhilarating rallies in table tennis and churn water in a swimming pool, all while competing for the much sought after gold medal.

Pinbusters -
Experience the excitement of the lanes with AMF Bowling: Pinbusters! Take on the challenge alone in single-player mode or strike up competition with up to three of your friends in multiplayer mode. Pinbusters caters to any gamer looking for pick up and play action in a party atmosphere! Full use of the remote you can actually mimic real bowling! This game offers 7 environments and an atmosphere like no other. Unique mini games are also available as well as eight playable characters!

SSX Blur -
Shred up some ice in this entry in the franchise designed to let you use your body motions in ways possible only with Wii as you race down the mountain. Revolutionary controls take full advantage of the Wiis potential by putting you in total command of your skier or rider, on the ground and in the air, by translating every emotion you make into the skill to create mountain legends.

Pinball Hall Of Fame -
The Williams Collection faithfully recreates eight of the most memorable tables from the golden age of pinball in stunning, photorealistic 3D. Players begin the game with access to four pinball tables, and the remaining four tables are unlocked as the game progresses. Players can spend as little as two minutes on a quick pinball challenge, or delve deeper into the game, gaining rewards in a token-based system as they unlock each of the pinball tables. Single-player Arcade and Challenge modes provide hours of solo entertainment, and a Multiplayer mode lets players face each other head-on.

Dave Mirra BMX Challenge -
Dave Mirra BMX Challenge for the Wii video game system features 12 different environments and 13 bikes to choose from. Each unique environment includes two race paths, and can be played in race or trick-oriented modes. Of course there are tons of others out there but really these are the basics of a few of my very cherished ones. Since purchasing my Wii I have gotten into athletic games more and more. I have always enjoyed the snowboard games on Xbox and such but Wii brings a little extra special something, particularly now with the new Wii iFit!
