Absolute Power

There is a sense of drift we cannot shake off. There is a sense of foreboding, which rises every weekend to a pitch of panic that the government will fall, if it has not already, to the military center.

Consider the components of the current crisis: rumors and the fears they generate. This is crisis of ghosts, of nonexistent causes ñ but devastatingly real effects on the life and economy of every country. The roots of the current crisis are all of them in the mind, a public mind tormented by fears generated by rumors. These rumors, in which, its main focus and aim is to claim absolute power over everything.

Generally, absolute power refers to the incorporation of all the three powers of the government namely, the judicial power, legislative, and the executive powers.

For this reason, most people condemn absolute power in the sense that the person or any entity that wish to gain absolute power is someone who is hungry to rule the world. The most common example of this are the autocrat, the persecutor, the oppressor, and the dictators.

The main problem with obtaining absolute power is that power itself has the tendency to be fraudulent or dishonest. Hence, it is logical to say that absolute power refers to absolute dishonesty and fraudulent acts. Thatís why most people are not in favor of implementing absolute power over those who are in authority.

In fact, it is with the concept of absolute power that rebellion is created, sedition manifested, and disrespect to the law is implemented. In turn, if these things will be generated, chaos and confusions will reign. This is because everybody has the tendency to obtain absolute power.

Alternatively, when the British Parliament has enacted its Declaratory Act of 1766, wherein they have asserted to obtain absolute power to all of their colonies, the world had first overlooked its potential to hold a war against these people who are greedy in power.

Consequently, no idea ever floated is as revolting as the one, which suggests that the solutions to the world problems lie in a takeover of someone who has absolute power over everything.

The correct response to this idea is to condemn it outright as it comes, and not allow it to flourish. An absolute power takeover is no solution to the worldís crisis on terrorism, economy, and political adversities.

Absolute power underlies the attempts of authorities who are voracious and greedy with power. Itís all in a matter of self-centeredness.

For this reason, it is important to reject the incorporation of absolute power in the government and evening the business industry. People must equally reject the imposition of absolute power that some of those who are in authority are contemplating as an answer to the crisis.

Declaring certain situations that constitutes absolute power such as martial law or dictatorship would be a shameful admission that a particular government sunk to the point that it can no longer lead but can only rule by decree.

The point here is that the people should be the primary initiators of change. They should reject the takeover of absolute power.

It does not matter whether the group or the person who seeks absolute power is a leftist or a rightist group. The people will never condone political change through absolute control and supremacy. A change through absolute power may bring not freedom, but another totalitarian regime.

There are many peaceful ways to effect a change. But it must have the publicís endorsement and support. A change to absolute power will only trigger more problems founded on violence.

People should keep in mind that a peaceful change is always part of the solution. Violent attempts, through absolute power, are by its very nature always part of the problem, and if left unchecked becomes the problem itself.

The strength of a nation, the maturity of its people are best tested by the radical changes it can make through un-radical means.

With absolute, there is always the oppressor and the oppressed. It will always be a case of the powerful and the powerless. And when this phenomenon exists until the end, life will be an unfair dominion of existence, survival, and security.

Hence, there is nothing that can be achieved absolutely through absolute power that cannot be better achieved peacefully and equally. Any change that does with absolute power is a change for the worse.
