Healthy Lifestyles, Life Itself - 2008 Not Great, 2009 More Benign?

Each morning I turn the musty and fresh pages of old and new books and magazines for reminders of another quirky fact This can lead nowhere, or can open up yet another view of a previous known known, as some might say. And which becomes so fascinating that you find yourself writing what if, if this event yet comes to be. But is now so outside the loop that you might be taken away with a net with such thoughts.

The example of a mighty newer Metro Europe serves best. As my television is also on and I tend to graze news channels. I find the British station giving me a wider view of the world than is likely on the American channels, who are more likely chasing the next American tornado. Meanwhile half way around the world, a riotous election is being shown on an international channel of bad things happening in the middle east that could have profound effects on American influence in that area.

So last week I watched delegates of the European Union discuss with delegates from Russia and Serbia about the situation in Kosovo, to Russia and Serbia a renegade province of Serbia.

The European spokesman with a Nordic accent said to the dismay, it seemed of the Russian and Serbian, that Europe was ready to begin negotiations for the eventual inclusion of both Serbia and Kosovo into the European Union, as soon as Serbia hand over two named men for War Crimes Against Humanity. We shall see on that.

But the shock was what was discussed next, and that was that Europe could now see a wider Europe that brought together, in effect, the old Roman Empire, combined with the variety of Germans of north Europe and the Slavs and the Moors all learn to become a multi cultured great liberal democracy with respect for all and a great border free European North African West Asian nation with free trade and harmony with all.

The Russian almost fainted, and the Serb came forward a little as if to say later, tell me more when Uncle Ivan goes home. And it has taken me all this time to say that since all roads led to Rome, why not have either it, or a Pyramid, be a Mile "O" on a great road around the sea.

Perhaps place that bridge designed by Leonardo da Vinci for the new Ottoman Emperor that was to bridge Asia to Europe at Istanbul. Instead, let us instead place this bridge near the Pillars of Hercules, or Gibraltar, and arc magnificently over to Africa in Morocco.

I would love to be part of that cavalcade, and we would all drive on down to Casablanca, and have a gin fizzle at Rick's Place. So different now, the Germans and the French are friends and tune the same tunes now: money, money, money. Much better than guns, bang, bang, all fall down.

We would have to tell them we must be on our way soon, to go see the rebuilding of Carthage. Those great E.U. funds do always help sooth the natives. They may make it a winter spa with it's hot desert air. It is near Tunis.

Rick is planning to open a Place there and call it Hannibal's. You know Rick: it will be a real high class joint. You must leave your camel or elephant outside. No Romans with swords or salt allowed anywhere near the place.
