People do not need to travel to any shop and pay any transportation fee to buy their wanted products. Buyers can come across their favorite goods merely with some mouse clicks, which is time-saving and extremely convenient for elderly or disable people who have some difficulties in traveling.
After surfing the internet, visiting a variety of shops online to have a look at all kinds of commodities, consumers can fulfill purchase orders and send them to the sellers via their computers without standing in crowded lines. Moreover, customers can make orders at any time that is at their conveniences, even at 5a.m or midnight which is not limited within opening hours. They also never have to listen anything for any salesperson's predefined convince to buy an item" script, which may sometimes waste their time and make them confused.
In addition, people can get benefits from comparatively lower price offered by online shopping since sellers do not have to pay for store operation and running cost, salespersons and other associated cost. This allows the sellers to cut down the prices and also providing their customers with many promotion programs in order to compete successfully in the market.
On the other hand, shopping online contains some disadvantages that can make people hesitate to choose this way of purchasing goods. The first one comes from threat of identity theft. This kind of risk is more popular in such developing countries as Vietnam due to its weak security. It will be a serious problem if your identity information is stolen and illegal used.
Another disadvantage is that buyers may be provided with misleading product information. Sellers sometimes lure customers to buy their products by designing appealing images to show on the computer screens. Buyers have no way of seeing or feeling the products, judging accurately the size and ensuring the quality of the items.
It is the splendor in such alluring advertisements that urge people to send purchase orders via without any consideration. However, when the shoppers receive the products, they may feel disappointed, unsatisfied and unhappy because the products do not come up to their expectations.
In other words, those products are not the exact ones they previously need to buy. In this case, the consumers will probably encounter another difficulty in dealing with the returns. It often takes a long time to send it back to the sellers, which cost them some delivery cost. Moreover, they have to wait for several days or even weeks if the items are bought from oversea, to get the replacements from the sellers. This causes people inconveniences and contribute to prevent the sellers from gaining the trust and favor from their customers.
In conclusion, in spite of addressed shortcomings, online shopping is constantly growing all over the world due to its eases. People should make full use of its advantages and avoid its pitfalls by shopping via reputed websites and think carefully before making purchases.
