It's not the actual watch that caused the breakdown of the relationship but more the fact that it showed the depth of his feelings towards her and how serious he was about their future together. Men might not think like this but it pays to know that women do. Men have never been brilliant at communicating feelings so women tend to look for it in other ways.

Buy a woman a luxury watch and the right choice will convey feelings that you don't need to put into words. But how to make the right choice? First, do not go cheap. She wants to feel she is priceless to you and she wants to feel special so first of all make it a luxury watch.

Make it a top brand watch and she will understand you are committed to the relationship and not just trying to buy her favours. She will treasure this gift and it will also be a piece that doesn't lose money but something that can later become a family heirloom.

But most importantly, know your woman. Is she a girly girl who will appreciate diamonds and delicate detailing or a practical type who sees function as more important? Think about what she wears, how the watch will blend, the size of her wrist, would she be more likely to go for a bangle style or strap design?
