When I Close My Eyes The Media Saturated Society Is Gone And Values Are Restored

I must follow my heart and allow my un-apologetic feelings and words to steer a new course and unfold my unwavering faith in greatness and Love.

Lately I have seen a world devoured by media ratings and the ideology that all that was once beautiful and pure is shadowed by gloom and distrust. I have witnessed the lack of personal greatness cut short by an undefined code of values; we all must define.

As I write to you now I close my eyes; there I see my today, and tomorrow, I feel my purpose and I see a world of dreams flowing free. Uninhibited dreams envisioned as a master artist creates their masterpiece.

Greatness is inside everyone. However, greatness without Values can cause catastrophic events. Greatness without love can bring death and hate. As the pages of our historical past, turn we see both sides of greatness.

We have all felt what 56 men valued above their own lives a few hundreds years ago. These 56 men had values of freedom, life and the pursuit of happiness. Imagine as these 56 men inked a page, which they knew signed their treasonous death certificate. However they held love for others above their own and included a passage most has ignored, that all men are created equal under a loving God! We have felt greatness through established values of honor, service and love.

We have felt misguided greatness through a tyrant's dream of death, destruction, humiliation, and extinction for anyone or anything that might be different. They always saw their past, where they were always the victims. They always saw others out to destroy them, through out their life they never knew the feeling of love, and their values enabled them to destroy human lives.

We have felt misguided greatness through those never knowing what love is. They never knew the joy of serving, rather than destroying, so they established a weak set of values. We have seen all these weak acts of greatness fall, because a stronghold held together by only bonds of fear and selfish values always will crumble. Because where there is darkness and pain, there will always be those who will take a stand for what is right.

There is greatness inside all of us. How we allow this energy to flow is determined by a set of values we base all our actions upon.

Most of my life I never knew the joy of serving, I physically could not do so. Love to me was people using me until my value was gone, and then leaving me. My life became a wall of fat not allowing anyone in. I felt everyone was out to hurt me unless I could strike pain upon him or her first. I did not know the meaning of values. When the burden of my weight was gone and girls started noticing me, I was able to get anything I wanted. My lack of values almost destroyed who I am.

We all have greatness inside of us, unleashing that fire without established values is dangerous. A value of love, and not a love that is a one night stand after a well-played game of emotional head games in order to get someone to do what you want.

Love is not relinquishing your self worth just to be with the most popular person and hold hands with the right status symbol. Values are not something you posses, and can place in a drawer when societies pressure dictates how you treat others, or how you play the game. When others pressure you into choosing between them and a friend or family member your values will be challenged. When someone you care deeply about has a moment of weakness or change of feelings and may do or say things that hurt and your decision to love or hate will be decided by your values.

When you see strangers in pain with no hope and no one loving them what will be your action? Do you decide to turn and walk away, or shoulder any outcome by showing compassion and love. Your actions will be decided by your values. When you are in a position where you are losing everything and others need help, and without thought you give all you can. Through your values of only showing love your values will be felt.

When you establish your values and place others before yourself you encompass greatness. When you show love, and truly stand by the words written so long ago "...all men are created equal". In a time of changeable values, where marriages ending, and children are losing a parent while shouldering the blame we need greatness. We need greatness from those who in times of struggle will embrace their loved ones and say I am sorry, I love you, and together we will weather any storm. I will love you today and more tomorrow, I will place you above myself. I gladly will serve and protect you, I will shield you from all pain, and I would give of my life freely for you. Because when you say those words, looking back into your eyes is the love of another who only sees greatness, happiness and peace, and ask her if it really matters?
