The Difference Between The Ritz And Fawlty Towers
When booking a hotel there are many things to take into consideration. Many people will first consider the location in comparison to where you actually need to be when you're not in your hotel room and swiftly after that comes the price factor.
Hotel prices vary due to how central the location is and then to what amenities they provide. A very basic hotel with minimal supplies can prove very frugal if all you need is somewhere to lay your head. However, if you're looking for something a little more luxurious you will need a place that believes hotel supplies should come as comfy as possible.
Of course, there are many aspects in between these two extremes and often regular travellers will find a hotel they like and stick with it whenever they are in that vicinity. A certain level of comfort is required in all hotels, depending on what you are doing there.
Some visitors like to spend a night in a sumptuous hotel where hotel supplies come in the form of champagne in the room and little luxuries in the bathroom.
Very often, a hotel stopover will be an impromptu one where a meeting or visit has run on longer than expected and getting home is not practical. In this instance, hotel supplies can be more important than you would initially expect.
They can consist of essentials such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel and even things like razors, condoms, feminine hygiene products and even spare tights for the ladies.
These may seem like simple things but you can be pretty sure that, try and find them in the dead of night and you'll be stuck. These hotel supplies may not seem like major purchases but they do make the difference between a comfortable stay in a hotel and a make do one.
To have all these essential hotel supplies at your fingertips can mean the difference between waking in the morning feeling alive and refreshed, or waking up to feel like a bag of nails. This is especially important if you need to go on the next day to somewhere important rather than getting straight home. Even then, if you feel refreshed, then driving home can be a whole lot easier than muddling your way home in a fog of dirty tiredness.
Hotel supplies can either come in the form of vending machines in communal restrooms or as complimentary items in a hotel room and the calibre of the hotel will determine this. That said, it is pretty much expected these days that even the basic hotels will have the most basic of supplies.
This is because many hotels now cater for business men and women, even hosting the meetings with conference facilities. It is important to the attendees that a certain level of presentation needs to be met and is indeed expected. Using the hotel supplies to meets these needs means it's a pretty sure thing that they will be asked to hold events again, thus generating more custom.
With the current economic situation, many hotels are expanding their uses to things like business venues, events facilities and even weddings. This brings in a whole new clientele and can make the difference between keeping afloat through the recession or going under but in all situations, anything that makes a guests stay that bit more comfortable, will encourage them back time and again.
