Tips To Teaching Toddlers To Bath

Toddlers love to learn new things and do it by themselves. This makes them feel responsible and proud of their achievements. And teaching them to enjoy a bath by themselves can be a great experience even for kids who are difficult when it comes to having a bath. In fact, allowing them to take a bath by themselves under your watchful eyes can do wonders to get them actively interested in the bathing routine.

Toddlers are sensitive enough that they feel they are being pampered. As much as all moms would like to show their love for their toddlers, they also want to do something to provide a comfortable and clean feeling for their kids. One way to provide a clean and refreshing feeling for toddlers is by bathing them.

When dealing with toddlers in the bathroom we need to understand them and respect their likes and dislikes. We need to be very sensitive to their needs.
Physical touch is necessary and it all must be done with great love and understanding. This will make them more cooperating while at the bath.

When it is time to bath, first of all announce that it is time of her bath. Then, go and prepare the bathroom, fill the bath with water and check whether the temperature is right for her tender skin. Before placing her in the tub, be sure the water is neither hot nor cold. Most toddlers will prefer water that is skin temperature to slightly warm. Remember to hold her securely and to work quickly so she does not startle or get cold. Keeping her comfortable during the experience will help her eventually look forward to bath time.

Also, get the mop ready so that you could mop the floor during bath, to make sure that the floor is always clean so that she wont slip and fall and hurt herself. Then call the kid who knows already that it is the time to have a bath after you have announced it formally.

When she is ready, bring her to the bathroom and help her remove her clothes on her own or take it off by your-self. In the meantime, pour some of her soap into the water and prepare her face towels. And then helped her to place herself in the bath and ask her whether the water is the right temperature. When buying bath shampoo and soap for toddlers, you have to choose the ones that are delicate for bathing their soft and tender skins. There are wide varieties of shampoos and soaps but you have to be very careful not to choose items that can cause irritation for sensitive scalp and skin. If you feel so, you it is right to ask your doctor for advice in choosing the right items.

Help her to wash the parts of her body she couldnt reach herself and help her in what ever way she wants or required, whether requested or un-requested by her. After the bath, help her to dry herself and I put some cream where necessary, and then help her with getting dressed. All the time talk to about her needs and requirements about the bath and also maintained an informal friendly talk.

Let her watch while you stay in the bathroom to clean it. Washed the bath and made sure that the floor and the whole bathroom is ready for the next bath. In this way you will teach her to learn the value of cleanliness and keeping things in order. Your love and understanding will make her always very nice and friendly and both of you will become great friends, and bath time will become naturally fun and enjoyable.
