Goal Setting Tips For Prosperity in Life
Everybody has goals in life, even from the time they are young girls and boys. We never actually lose sight of these goals as we grow older. What sometimes happens is that we procrastinate or shelve these goals towards middle age. (Sometimes even before middle age, as early as our 20s) What causes this despondency? It could be disappointment over some of the choices we made in life. However, these goals are never forgotten. You could say that goals are what give each of us hope. Even if we are unhappy about our present lot in life we can still take comfort in the fact that we have a long-range goal worth achieving and creating prosperity might not be as hard as it sounds.
What if you could accelerate your goals and make this dream become a reality, not someday but today? The answer is, ironically, not in changing our goal or downsizing our dreams, but in breaking down these fantasies into manageable sections. Goal setting should be a step by step process, not a fanciful vision of the distant future. Goal setting should be a process that helps you clear your mind of all negativity and instead focuses on positive and workable solutions. Consider four important points in effective goal setting with a view to achieving your dreams. These are important guidelines to start learning if you want to create prosperity.
1. Add detail to each goal.
A goal doesn't mean much to a person if it is vague, next to impossible and too long-term to matter in the present. Instead, make a goal immediate and add as much detail as you see fit. The more detail you provide, the more you will actualize your success, and the more motivated you will be to achieve this goal.
2. Make sure the goal is realistic.
You can't be too farfetched when setting your goals - at least not in the beginning. Instead of dwelling on long-term scenarios (being rich and famous) try thinking about what you can accomplish right now, in the moment, or at least in the next week or so. When you set unrealistic goals for yourself, you are not only dooming yourself to failure but are also limiting your own potential to create wealth. No one expects you to be someone else. You define your own success.
3. Brainstorm in advance.
Never let it be said that it just takes action to create prosperity. No, it takes action and brain power. It is only after conceiving a goal, and then following up with details and logistics, that you can truly start taking action. Taking action before thinking a scenario out is reckless, and is the opposite of practical thinking and creating prosperity. What usually happens among dreamers (who insist on staying that way) is that they plan giant leaps instead of attainable goals. Unable to fulfill them, and having given no thought on how to actually achieve their goal, they give up in frustration. The solution lies in creating measurable goals and taking small steps to certain success.
4. Set a deadline.
Finally, make sure and set a deadline for each and every small goal. That way you put "someday" and "later" away and focus on the here and now. This is the best way to become motivated and unstoppable in your new life course!
