Body building as a sport approximately started one century ago. A man by the name Eugene Sandow is honored and given the merit as the one behind the profession. As the father in this respect to body building, he is said to have invited spectators and show cased the event in which the object of interest was his well outlined and muscular body. This was a very unique adventure as many people never thought that the body could at any time mean anything different and no one thought it could create such a great impact.

From then people started to display agility and strength and it became the center stage of many performances. Sooner than later he was among the most popular people in Germany and he used his earned fame in establishing businesses related to body building as well as selling products needed for body building.
Equipment started emerging in the market for different body building approaches and they all bore different brand names and advertising lines. Sandow's name just like it sounds, is connected closely to a competition and or contest featuring world's best body builders, showcased in London.

It is said that during the World War One, eleven body builders gained a lot of muscles and they thus qualified as the strongest and best built up. Their success can be attributed to the respect they commanded and also the fact that they were very aggressive. It was thought to many that a strong physique would help stand up and fight the enemy. With time body building has became a truly organized sport with many oganizations including the, International Federation of Body Building, exclusively formed to guide the body building profession.
