Calorie Counting and Weight Loss Don't Mix

Losing weight can be hard work. Everyone knows that. Changing your long-time habits is difficult for anyone, with whatever goals. So why make it even more difficult? Fad diets are useless and a waste of time. And calorie counting is definitely a fad diet because it 's useless and a waste of time. Calorie counting and weight loss just don't mix.
While you're losing weight, the goal isn't to only cut down on food; you still have to somehow eat the nutrients that are absolutely necessary for your body to function properly and, in this case, in tip-top weight loss condition. Your body can do it, believe me. But when you cut calories just to decrease the amount of calories per day that you eat, your body is at a disadvantage at the start. Without all the nutrients and energy your body needs, there 's no way you will lose weight. Calorie counting just forces you to cut out food, without paying any attention to whether or not you're eating nutritious food or not.
Despite what all those fad diets say, your body still needs protein, carbs, and fats. Yeah, most of those fad diets say to stay away. How in the world can you or really WHY in the world should you be staying away from the building blocks of your own body?? Your body is made of protein, carbs and fats. It makes no sense to avoid them. But when you are cutting calories, your focus is solely on the calorie count, not the quality of food. So while you're eating low calorie this and low calorie that, your body is missing out on protein, carbs and fats that it needs and that it could get if you would just eat regular food!
By the way, low calorie foods may be low in calories, as well as nutrients, but guess what it 's insanely full of? Sugar! Most low calorie foods are really high in sugar! That 's also why calorie counting and weight loss don't mix! When you're stuck on low calorie foods, you're eating way way too much sugar. Despite what sweet-tooths out there have to say, sugar absolutely contributes to obesity! There is no doubt about it. Just look at America 's obesity rate and compare it to the diabetes rate! A lot of people who are overweight are also diabetics, which is directly caused by sugar. It 's stored as a fat because there 's so much of it that your body can't use it all as quickly as maybe you'd like so it is directly stored as body fat, clearly a direct influence on obesity.
But anyway, you'll probably be hungry all day because of this calorie counting craziness too. So it 's normal that you'll crave food of all kinds so here comes the munchies! Well, normally, in that situation, most people reach for something that 's easy, quick and extremely tasty, either sweet or salty. The foods that can satisfy you are full of calories, and definitely more than you normally think. Coffee has tons of calories, and most people don't realize that so when you go out for a coffee run, boom! There goes your calorie cutting for the day. You'll probably have eaten enough calories for two days! But it 's too much for one day. And not only that but it 's also not healthy for you at all.
Really, if you're serious about losing weight, don't bother with fad diets. They get you no where. If anything, they just waste your valuable time and money. At worst, they make you so discouraged that you just give up all together! But you have to remember that losing weight is NOT that difficult. It 's NOT that confusing. It only seems confusing because there are so many people out there trying to sell you fad diets full of confusing rules and counting guidelines. If you just stick with healthy, wholesome fresh foods and a great exercise routine, you'll be on the fast track to losing weight!
