Modeling is a simple concept yet a very effective strategy to accelerating your body-transformation journey, be it losing weight, burning fat, or building muscle.
What is modeling? Put simply, modeling implies that you find someone who has done what you want to do, you find out exactly how they did it and then you do what they did.
Even Tony Robbins implemented the concept of modeling to fast-track his personal successes. He said that if you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results you want and copy what they do and you'll achieve the same results.
Modeling works! It is simple and it is very effective. How then do you go about it? Here are three simple steps to the process of modeling that you can follow in achieving the body you always wanted.
First step to modeling is to define your goals. Is your goal to lose fat? Is your goal to increase muscle size? Is your goal to increase strength and power? What is your body-transformation goal?
Second step is to choose the right person to model. If your goal is to become rich, would you model your plan of action after a poor unsuccessful person's path? You must select the right person based on the goals you defined.
Selecting the right person to model require you to do some research and exploration. Remember that you are effectively trying to find a mentor that could help you to achieve your weight-loss and body-transformation goal. Study how potential mentors did to get where they are now, from their dieting to their training and all that goes in between.
That is, you need to first generate a list of potential mentors that could help you achieve the goals you defined in step 1. This list can be built based on word-of-mouth, local magazines and newspapers, and your gym.
You could also search on the Internet for potential mentors. Many personal trainers, bodybuilders, and fitness specialists have made themselves available over the Internet. Check their websites, blogs and success stories. Look at their own before-and-after photos. It is likely that you may find that some of these mentors may once be at your state.
Find out if their programs are suitable based on the goals you defined in step 1. Choose a program that allows you to contact the mentor for supports. Choose a program that gives you a day-to-day diet and workout plan or guide. Some mentors provide pre-recorded video-coaching which is even better.
Bottom-line is find a mentor that offers program that is closely aligned to your body-transformation goals. Find a mentor that can hold your actions accountable. If you need to report to a person routinely on a schedule how you have kept up with your diet and workout, you are more likely to follow through.
Third step is to take actions. Once your identified the right person to model, you must then take actions to copy what they do and you will achieve the results you desire! Many people have paid the price on a program but never even begun the program. You must take action. You must accept that you too can have the body you want.
The beauty of modeling others' success is that you can visualize what is possible with you. The person that has been successful now was just like you in your current state. They took actions and they achieve their body-transformation goals.
You too can copy exactly what they did and model their successes. It is that simple.
