I am that kind of person who keeps watching her weight. I am overweight. I have tried so many diets. These diets failed every time and I ended up with gaining the weight back.
My only concern was to find out why do I fail every time. I searched for an answer till I have found that diets are not the way to achieve my goal and I have stopped by the following facts:
First, low fat food don't work although it has been popular for several years ago and I am gaining weight year after another.
Second, you won't lose weight using a Low Calorie Dieting Plan either. In fact, that will only slow down your body 's fat burning engine and ruin all chances of losing weight .
But I didn't give up. I kept searching and searching. During my search I came across a diet that is based on calories shifting and I would like to share with you my findings:
The diet is based on the Shifting Calories Method. Simply put, you constantly change what you eat so your body doesn't fall into any routine... so it is always having to process what it eats. It is like the saying "if you always do what you've always done, you will continue to get what you've always got".
Most diets fail because they reduce the calorie intake, which actually causes the metabolism to slow down, so you can lose weight in the beginning, but then you start to plateau and eventually end up gaining the weight back. They whole key to losing weight is getting your metabolism to burn fat faster, that is why some people are slim and others are not, it comes down to your metabolism (plus exercise!).
As with any diet program, you need to incorporate exercise into your weight loss. Now I don't like the gym and what I found with shifting calories diet is that you are only required to do 30 minutes of exercise a day... now get this, that doesn't have to be all in one hit! You could do 10 minutes here, 10 minutes there! I used a pedometer to measure the amount of steps I did in a day and found that I was getting just about all of my 30 minutes in the walking I was doing during my normal work day!
There are always pluses and minuses to any diet but I feel that the pluses far outweigh the minuses, at least for me. Every person is going to have a different outcome, but the first step, as with anything, is actually starting.
