An Excellent At Home Pimple Treatment Routine
There are a lot of acne products on the market that claim to work on acne better than any home remedy. People do not consider an at home pimple treatment routine because they have never taken the time to really learn about acne. Buying acne products is the impulsive thing to do. Some acne products work on some people and other acne products work on other people but there is not one acne product that works well on everyone equally.
This is a dilemma that many dermatologists are struggling with and constantly doing research to uncover new acne breakthroughs. Well, until the next acne breakthrough is released it will not hurt to try simple home remedies that do not cost a lot of money, only a little ingenuity and self education on the topic of acne. Here is a simple at home pimple treatment that may help someone.
First the key to understanding acne is knowing that an acne lesion or pimple is merely skin inflammation caused by irritation in the hair follicles. Bacteria is the culprit that has infected a hair follicle and sort of made its home there. As a result the irritation has literally closed the pore shut. This is why topical acne products do not work as they claim. If they could get inside the pores then of course the main ingredient in most acne products, benzoyl peroxide, will kill the bacteria lurking inside. Because of the swelling, benzoyl peroxide is not capable of reaching inside the pores. The key to destroying the acne bacteria is to find a way to open the pores so benzoyl peroxide will have a chance to work inside and destroy all bacteria.
After understanding how acne and benzoyl peroxide works, now this particular at home pimple treatment idea can work. The ingredients involved are ice cubes and benzoyl peroxide.
At Home Pimple Treatment
Step one: Rub an ice cube over the infected area (acne) but be careful not to freeze your skin. Just rub the area enough until it is thoroughly cold. The ice opens the pores of your skin where the bacteria is hiding.
Step two: Apply benzoyl peroxide (it should be refrigerated before using) to the infected areas of your face. You can be liberal with spreading it out over your face. The ice opens the pores of your skin while benzoyl peroxide is given the opportunity now to go inside those open pores to destroy the acne bacteria.
Step three: Place a cold pack on the infected area for approximately 10 minutes. The cold pack cools your face while opening your pores. This also causes the blood vessels to shrink further allowing the penetration of the benzoyl application. As the blood vessels begin to shrink due to the cold, the body reacts and begins to send extra blood vessels to the inflamed area to warm it again. As extra blood vessels are sent of course we all know blood carries extra white blood cells that will help to fight off infection and help in the curing process.
This method is definitely an at home pimple treatment but is educational as well and hopefully will help someone.
