Hair Loss? Taking Longer To Wash Your Face?

Hair loss and balding is an issue that unfortunately cannot be prevented; however modern science has made it possible to treat it and help promote re-growth. Recent hair replacement treatments have recorded positive dramatic results for some people. Treatment can be in the form of buying a wig or undergoing major surgery, but hair transplant surgery is the only known form to have had good success rate in hair re-growth.

Hair Transplant

Generally, a person loses and restores an average of 100 strands of hair per day. However, when a person notices excessive hair loss it can create fear and panic. Most people who suffer from hair loss generally feel depressed, stressed and unattractive. In some cases patients have gone as a far as changing their identity as a result of their hair loss One available type of hair replacement treatment can help restore balance in the person's life, such as hair transplant surgery.

This is a more invasive procedure, which works on transplanting densely covered sites on the scalps to the bald areas. The success rate depends upon whether there are enough densely covered areas for this treatment to be effective. However, if hair loss is so severe leaving too much bald scalp area, then hair replacement may not be possible. In such cases scalp reduction surgery would be beneficial. This involves removing large sections of the bald scalp, then using extenders and expanders to stretch the hair-bearing region of the scalp.

Wigs

Though hair replacement is available in a variety of forms; for a quick and easy cover-up, the most popular form is to purchase a wig. Wigs have been used for many years and have constantly changed in style. King Louis XIII of France pioneered wig wearing for men in 1620, a trend which has since continued over the years. This for some people does not resolve the issue of hair loss and only conceals what is evidently still present. Therefore, others would naturally feel more comfortable going through more invasive procedures for promoting hair re-growth, regardless of the cost.

Prescription drugs and Herbal treatments

Hair replacement treatments can sometimes be a very daunting prospect and some people have sought other means of treatment that is non-invasive. The most popular topical treatment in the U.S is Minoxidil. This was originally an oral drug used to treat patients with high blood pressure, for this reason there is no sufficient explanation on how this drug works. However, it has is recorded to work better on those who are younger and have recently suffered from hair loss.

The results of using minoxidil varies, from a small percentage seeing moderate hair growth after four months usage, yet a higher percentage have experienced minimal hair growth. The drawbacks of using minoxidil is that those with hair loss on the crown and not at the front are likely to experience some hair growth, and they must continue using the topical treatment permanently otherwise any hair re-growth will be lost.
Unfortunately, herbal remedies have not shown proven abilities to aid hair re-growth.

In fact, shampoos and lotions claiming to have powerful herbal and natural properties to promote hair growth have always failed to deliver. Hair thickening products are good for gaining body and volume, which is more advantageous for women, more than men, but not good for hair re-growth. One thing to keep in mind is that there is no such thing as a secret ingredient that can restore lost hair.
