How to Select the Right Hair Growth Product

Hair loss is a serious issue for men, and once men start realizing that their hair is becoming thinner, hair loss is always on their mind. Every man will start to wonder how he can go about stopping this loss of hair. Usually the first thing they look at are hair growth products, but this can be confusing. There are many different hair growth products available, and it is hard to know where to start.

Hair growth products can be broken down into two main groups, natural hair growth products and chemical hair growth products. Natural hair growth products include the very popular Procerin, as well as numerous other 'natural' products that claim to stop hair loss.
The two most important chemical hair growth products are Propecia and Rogaine. Both are approved by the FDA, and each company has done extensive testing that proves their products work, under the right circumstances.

When you are trying to decide where to start, you will first have to ask yourself a few questions. For how long have I been losing my hair? Have I lost a lot of hair? Where am I losing my hair, at the temples, or on the crown of my head? Am I prepared to take these products for months at a time, up to years at a time? Am I prepared to put up with difficult side-effects? How much am I willing to spend?

Once you have answered these questions, you will be much better able to select a hair growth product. If you have been losing hair for many years, and have lost a lot of hair, you will need a stronger product, and will have to go with a chemical product if you want to see some results, or you may have to combine two products. Natural hair growth products are not as effective, and the only one that has shown promising results is Propecia.

If you are losing hair at your temples, you are pretty much out of luck. Most hair growth products only work for hair loss on the crown of the head. Procerin has seen some success with hair loss at the temples, so this is one possible option, but both Rogaine and Propecia state that their products are only proven to work for hair loss on the crown.

To see any results, you will likely have to take hair growth products for an extended period of time, and more than likely, will never be able to stop taking them unless you are willing to experience hair loss again. This is important to think of before investing a lot of money on hair growth products.

The chemical hair loss products all have possible side effects, and it is unlikely you will not experience any. They range from itchy and irritated scalp (Rogaine) to possible sexual side effects (Propecia). In this case, natural products are a better option, because side effects are either non-existant, or very light.

Last of all, to use one of the major hair growth products, you will have to be willing to pay a minimum of $30 a month, which is more or less what Propecia, Rogaine, and Procerin cost per month. If you don't want to pay this much, you can try some of the other natural hair growth products, but seeing any serious results is unlikely.

Choosing the correct hair growth product is crucial, and is different for each individual. With a little bit of help, it is not as difficult as it looks, and each person should be able to find something that works for them.
