PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS

HOW CONCERNED ARE YOU ABOUT YOUR HEALTH AND WELLNESS?Have you washed your hands? This is what I would ask a little child, not a grown-up, but I am often tempted to ask this question of women I see come in to a. public bathroom, use it and walk out without taking the necessary hygiene step of washing their hands. I heard a disturbing report the other day that made me want to gag.
It is bothersome to know that people have to worry about the cleanliness of the food they are getting to eat when they go to a restaurant because employees do not know how important it is to wash their hands. They either do not care or they do not realize that they are jeopardizing their health as well as the health of the customers, who are really the reason they have a job.
Common sense should dictate that a person should wash his or her hands after using the bathroom, especially if one is handling food. Today I worked with some two and three year old toddlers and a little boy asked me to take him to the bathroom and guess what? After using the toilet he walked over to the sink and proceeded to wash his hand. How amazing, even this little toddler knew the importance of washing his hands after using the toilet. Please practice proper hygiene and help prevent the spread of germs.
I am a very health conscious person, so instead of ordering soda or a sweetened drink when I go to a restaurant, I ask for water with lemon, so when I saw a microbiologist on TV explaining how much germs were found when test was done on cut lemons that are served in restaurants, I just wanted to puke.
To my surprise, the bacteria they found on the lemons include fecal matter. Can you believe that? I can, because I have had some eye penning experiences in women’s bathrooms. I have been in women’s bathroom on numerous occasions where I heard people in the next stall doing plop, plop, plop, then they get out of the stall and walk out of the bathroom without going to the sink to wash their hands. Oh my! This is plain nasty.
Hand Washing is as easy as 123:
1. When you have finished using the toilet; simply go to the sink, press the soap dispenser which will release liquids soap or foam in your hands. Rub your hands together.
2. Turn the Faucet on. Better yet with technology some faucets turn on, all you have to do is simply slide your hand under the tap. I heard that 15 seconds or the length of time you would take to sing one stanza of Happy Birthday to you is all the time needed to give your hands a proper wash.
3. Pull a piece of paper towel from the dispenser or wave your hand by the automatic hand dryer and that all folks. Come-on it can not get any easier than that. There should be no excuse for not wash your hands after going to the bathroom.
Now you are ready to go back to work, shopping or wherever and you will not be spreading germ when you touch yourself, people or things.
Why do you need to wash your hands?
? When you leave that bathroom without washing you hands you are spreading germs to yourself and other people
? The number one reason is to prevent the spread of germs. It takes only about 15 seconds to wash you hands. Have you ever heard of salmonella poisoning and E. coli infection? These are food related illnesses that can be caused by lack of proper hand-washing. The center for disease control reports that approximately 76 million people get food-borne illnesses each year and some people actually die as a result.
Please practice good hygiene and minimize the spread of germs and death.
