All The Hype About Healing From The Bee Hive

owadays, bees are gaining more and more popularity in the science realm. Bee products are currently being researched by many scientists and finding that they provide numerous health benefits. Honey, which is created from concentrated plant nectars, has a lot of health benefits, uses, and very healthy for the body because it is not processed. In most cases, the darker and stronger the honey is, the better it is as an antioxidant and antimicrobial supplement. Honey can even be used as a food preservative. When looking for a honey to help with antibacterial properties, especially against food poisoning and ulcers, Manuka and Viper’s bugloss are the best choices. More impressively, honey has the ability to heal wounds and infections. An Indian study researched raw wildflower honey compared to silver sulfadiazine (the conventional treatment) for the effectiveness in treating first degree burns. Not only did the honey provide a light, effective barrier against infection, but it also absorbed the pus, allowing the burn to heal quicker and reduced pain, irritation, and odor. Results similar to this were found when wildflower honey was used to help heal cesarean section and hysterectomy wounds, verses the alternative solution of alcohol and iodine. Because the sugars in honey attract water, when it is applied to a wound, it absorbs water and other bodily fluids, inhibiting growth of bacteria. Raw honey also contains glucose oxidase, which acts as a mild antiseptic, along with pollen, propolis, and enzymes, which stimulate the growth of new tissue. The essential oils and polyphenols found in honey can also offer additional healing help.

Bee pollen, the actual flower pollen collected by bees from plants, contains concentrations of phytochemicals and nutrients because they are the product of the flowers’ male reproductive cells. Many studies of bee pollen have determined that pollen extract can effectively treat men with prostate problems. A more impressive study has given evidence that pollen may be a more effective treatment for lung cancer than chemotherapy as pollen stimulates the immune system rather than attacking the tumors on its own. A third study demonstrated pollen extract’s amazing liver detoxification abilities and even prevented increases in cholesterol and triglycerides.

Propolis, which is a collection of tree resins collected by honeybees, is used to seal cracks in the hive and strengthen the combs as well as sterilization and protection against infection. Propolis contains high levels of caffeic acid phenethyl ester which inhibit cancer and reduce inflammation as well as any drug. It is traditionally used as a healer, it inhibits the growth of herpes, influenza, rota, candida, and aspergillus. It is also effective against internal and upper respiratory infections. Propolis needs to be supplemented with prescription drugs when dealing with internal infections, as it can not replace prescription drugs. It can be applied to wounds in the form of a salve, with its ability to stimulate new tissue growth along with its infection-killing ability.

Royal jelly, a bee product excreted from glands in the nurse bees’ heads during pollen digestion, feeds larvae for the first three days, but is mainly consumed by the queen bee. This substance promotes long life for the queen bee, which lives five to seven years, verse the seven to eight weeks lived by a worker bee. Royal jelly has recently been proven in studies to lower cholesterol levels and discourage the development of artherosclerosis. The nutrients found in royal jelly are all beneficial for the skin as both a moisturizer and an anti-inflammatory.

If you’re are looking for better health and wellness, or looking for healing of what ales you, give one of these bee products a try. You can find these items at your local grocery or health food store.
