All The Different Types Of Astrology

Astrology is commonly known in reference to the zodiac signs such as Pisces and cancer that can be found at the back of magazines. However, there is much more to astrology than just that particular type. Astrology is a study that combines a group of systems, beliefs, and traditions with knowledge of celestial bodies and their placement in the universe. Those who study Astrology are called Astrologists and they use this information to further their understanding of information about personalities and human affairs.

They then interpret this information and make conclusions in the form of predictions. Astrology can be used to predict your horoscope for next month, or to make predictions about an entire year. There are many types of astrology, but the most common are Vedic astrology, Chinese astrology, and Aztec astrology. Each of these types of astrology takes the same information, and interprets it in a different way in order to predict major events that the future may hold.

Vedic astrology begins on the day of an individuals birth. This type of astrology considers the position and relevance of the planets on the day of your birth and uses this to make predictions about your personality, nature, and what your goals in life may be. Vedic astrology also makes predictions about a person's personality based on the space and time connection on the day of their birth. There are four elements that are each assigned attributes that determine a person's personality.

The four elements are air, water, fire, and earth. The earth represents a person who is grounded, while the element of fire represents a person who is spontaneous. The element of water represents a person who is creative, while the element of air represents a person who is very intellectual. In Vedic astrology, planet position, zodiac signs, and star positions are all taken into consideration when making predictions and descriptions of any individuals nature.

If you have ever been told that you were born in the year of an animal, you probably know what Chinese astrology is. Chinese astrology is based on a sixty year cycle and each year represents a certain phase. This sixty-year cycle is composed of two individual cycles interacting with each other. The first cycle, the less common of the two, contains the five elements. The five elements are fire, earth water, metal and wood. The second cycle, however, is very common and well-known.

This cycle contains twelve animals that correspond to the twelve months of the year. Each animal contains qualities that relate to their behaviors, and together, they combine to symbolize our fate. The twelve animals are the rat, the ox, the tiger, the rabbit, the dragon, the snake, the horse, the goat, the monkey, the rooster, the dog, and the pig. Each animal has specific qualities that relate to its behavior.

For example, the tiger symbolizes a strong leader who commands loyalty and respect. The use of these animals are how a Chinese astrologer determines the qualities a person will possess depending on which animal's year they are born into.

Aztec astrology is unique because of its originality and complexity. Aztec astrology was created by astrologers from Mesoamerica as early as 600 B.C. the unit of measurement for the Aztec's is the sunrise and the sunset, which marks the beginning and ending of another day. Aztec time cycles differ from our seven days cycle with forms a week and our thirty days cycle which forms a month.

Their time cycles are on a nine day, thirteen days, and twenty days cycle. The reason these numbers do not add up like our time cycles is because in our calendar, each day belongs to a single time cycle. The Aztec's day, however, belongs to many time cycles. This organization seems complicated to us, and the Aztecs not only understood it, but created it thousands of years ago.

The Aztec's use this calendar to describe human behavior through a system of twenty-day signs. These signs include the alligator, who symbolizes someone who is protective, and the Lizard, who symbolizes someone who is active. The Aztecs have used this system along with their knowledge of the planets to predict major world events for centuries.
