Door Closers: No Need To Worry About Forgetting To Close Your Door

Doors are a common and everyday sight for us. When we leave our houses, enter our offices, enter the mall, get into a cab and return to our homes, doors are what we see. A door, in its most literal meaning, is a structure attached to a building or an establishment that provides entrance and exit for those who need to go in or out of the building while at the same time ensuring that the building remains a closed and secured one. I can not imagine building and homes without doors.

They are the means for going in and out of the building. Although we can probably just put a hole on a wall for entrance or exit, it would look sloppy without a door. Most importantly, it would look vulnerable to theft, robbery or trespassing. A door is such a common structure for us and one that we have seen probably since our birth, that we neglect to think about it all that much. In reality, doors are important for every kind of building or establishment there is. And nowadays, so are door closers.

Perhaps the most important thing about a door is that it provides us entrance into an establishment we wish to go to while maintaining security for anyone who could pose a threat towards that establishment. However, this advantage of a door will be defeated if the door is not properly closed. You may have already heard of stories where peoples homes have been invaded easily because of an unlocked or unclosed door. It is important to realize how important it is to remember to close the door. This is where door closers come in. door closers are devices that are installed on the upper corner of the door which automatically closes the door after you have entered or exited it.

The greatest advantage of these door closers is the worry-free nature that they provide. It is a reality that no matter how security-conscious we are, at one point or another we tend to get too busy to remember to close the door. With door closers, you do not have to worry about forgetting anymore. Because even if you forget, these door closers will not. Door closers are also important for emergencies such as a fire. When people are panicking and scrambling for exit, who would remember to close the door? Placed in fire doors, door closer will ensure that the door is closed after every time someone uses it. This makes sure that the spread of fire and smoke is kept contained.

There is a particular door closer for just about every kind of door; from kitchen doors, entrance doors and even restroom doors. In choosing the type of door closer for the door you wish to put it in, major considerations should be the size of the door, type of door and the flow of people that enter and exit through that door.

There are said to be two types of door closers: the lightweight door closer and the heavy duty one. The lightweight door closer is used for a door that has a low level of usage. They cater to closing the door for an estimate number of use. The heavy duty door closer is used for a door that has a high level of usage. This type of door closer is fitting for sudden and regular use, but will still close securely. The heavy duty door closer is the one used for fire exit doors.

We forget to close our doors, and this can result to undesirable events. By catering to door closers, you make sure you do not ever have to worry about forgetting.
