The Magical Light That Tablelamps Shed Off
For as long as I can remember, there have been tablelamps. It is not something new or recent, although it has probably evolved into a lot of forms and designs over the course of the years since its inception. Indeed, the table lamp is probably one of the most popular types of lights that are catered to by the home, perhaps second only to the general lighting that comes with the overhead fluorescent bulb. Its popularity probably stems from the fact that even with its functionality; it could still garner some big points from the aesthetics department. Maybe the concept of this light having shades is one thing that keeps it from being just the ordinary.
Tablelamps can be used in two ways: for functionality or for aesthetic appeal. The functional use of the table lamp is one that is perhaps the main purpose for its creation, but today they come in a lot of designs and forms that make them great eye-candies for the home. I was window-shopping at the mall last week, and I saw this really beautiful table lamp. It literally stopped me in my tracks.
The design was very intricate, and its beauty was very palpable. I kept thinking how it would make my mother ecstatic if I brought that home for her. When I saw the price, however, I changed my mind. Nonetheless, that was just an example of how lamps have evolved over the years. If I back track to say, five years ago, I probably would not see a lamp design that intricate. That was a perfect example of a table lamp that was more for decoration than for anything else.
When we envision a table lamp, the setting is always in a part of the home. What most neglect to realize, however, is that it can also be used to adorn the office? Of course, this is not a common sight, but it can happen. I would like to explore the settings of the use of tablelamps, for both the home and the office.
For the home.
The home is our nest; it is where we live, and thus, we adorn it with everything that we can think of that would make it more appealing to live in. The table lamp is a popular home appliance. When we cannot sleep in total darkness when nighttime comes, the lamp is the source of light that would give us comfort. When we wish to do some reading before we go to sleep, the lamp is the one we turn to in providing for light. On the other hand, tablelamps also make great decorative pieces for the home. This may be perhaps because a lot of artistry can be done on its shades, making it both curiously interesting and blatantly appealing at the same time.
For the office.
Your office is your second home. It is where you spend a lot of hours in a day to earn your income. Being your personal space, you would of course want to adorn your office with things that you are comfortable in and are appealing to you. This is why some offices boast of tablelamps. If the goal of your office decor is to create a relaxed or peaceful ambience, table lamps will be good decorative pieces for it. Of course, not all office settings make having a table lamp appropriate, but for some with which it enhances it, this kind of lamp should be catered to.
We may have a natural inclination for the setting of table lamps, but being flexible types of light, it can be a decorative or functional piece in your home or in your office.
