Choose Your Style of Home Bar

When people want to enjoy themselves, relax, and have a good time with relatives or friends, they usually go to pubs or bars. However, this can really be done in the convenience and comfort of their own homes. It is a fine idea to build your own bar and entertain your friends there.

Home bars can even save you money. Drinks are less costly when you mix them at home. A home bar is designed to conveniently store your stock of supplies, bar wares, and all the equipment necessary to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages.

They come in many different colors and designs, and will have different kinds of storage space, depending on exactly what it is you set up. Many home bars are made of solid wood and are designed to be decorative. Some have matching stools. There are home bars that give you the feeling of being at a real bar. Some branded home bars are decorative items that give a special touch of style.

The following are some examples of the choices you have. They are not made to be permanent fixtures in the home. They are movable and are styled to conceal their contents.

The first type that is worth looking at is an armoire and wine cabinet by Howard Miller. It hosts a concealed wine and liquor cabinet. The style is very classic. It can store liquor bottles as well as glasswares and boasts a twenty two bottle rack. The mirrored back, wood finish, and laminated shelf drawers reflect real beauty. And the counter space is just about right for any home bartender in the making.

Another way to go is the portable, swing open bar. This version is a wooden bar that folds and gives the appearance of an end table or cabinet. This can be a regular fixture in a home. When you need to entertain guests, just swing open the two sides and the bar appears, complete with foot rails that are just right for bar stools to be pulled up to.

The only storage space is the middle panel. This means it's somewhat limited, but very mobile. It is on rubber casters so it can be rolled around. And can also be locked for those who need to secure their liquor.

Yet another option is something like the Lexington folding bar set. It bears a similarity to the swing open bar. It cleverly gives the appearance of an average living room cabinet by day and by night, it is a full bar in a beautiful wood finish, when you pull out the two extensions.

This bar can house a full stock of alcoholic drinks and wine bottles. It has pull-out drawers where the tools of the trade can be stored. All stemwares are kept in a built-in glass rack. This bar is a combination of elegance, traditional design, and functionality. It is also space saving.

The home bars presented above take people back to happy memories of a real bar atmosphere. It is not surprising that home bars are quite popular. They are fun and less expensive. And I hope the versions pointed out above will demonstrate that they don't have to be a grand, permanent fixture either.

Too many people complicate things with the idea that they have to build something elaborate and permanent. Nothing could be further from the truth. The ability to entertain in comfortable surroundings is as simple as equipping your home with portable, manageable accessories. The good times are really made by the company you are mixing the drinks for anyway.
