Collage Wall Frames - Say Cheese

Humming along to my car radio, the song that came on was Every Picture Tells a Story Don't It? For the life of me I could not get that song out of my head. I was humming it at the grocery store, while I was getting the car washed and at my hair salon appointment. I'm telling you it was driving me crazy. As my mom always told me, there is a reason for everything that happens. As it turned out she was correct at least in this case.

Tidying up, I encountered an entire drawer of pictures. Thinking back, there was a plan not too long ago, to put them in albums for these were filled with memories that I cherished. Last month was my daughters wedding and there was an envelope filled from this moment in time. Then that song came back into my head and I knew what I desired to do. Instead of putting these pictures in an album, I wanted them in view. There was an entire wall along side my staircase that needed new life. With these pictures I could tell a story with an artistic approach.

First thing I did was to go through my photos and try to decide which ones were to be framed. There were just too many and different sizes. So my plan was to make a collage and have it hung along the staircase. The dictionary defines collage as an art form in which various materials are glued onto a surface to make a picture. The nice part about the collage wall frames that I choose, the pictures could be removed and replaced. As your life story revolves so can your pictures.

To have a collage you must have a theme in common. For example: a vacation, family, the baby, wedding, or even an office party. The pictures themselves can vary in size or shapes. The pictures you choose should remind you of a special day or event. When a neighbor or friend takes a glance, the theme should come to mind in an instant. The collage wall frame lets you proudly display your photos in an organized way while showcasing your treasured moments.

Most traditional wall frames cannot compare to the artistic nature of a collage wall frame. There are various shapes, sizes, designs and materials. Through my research I came upon them in wood, wrought iron, acrylic, ceramic and metal. They have collage wall frames that will blend seamlessly with contemporary or traditional decor. Some are incorporated with wall sconces, clocks and mirrors. If you are truly creative, there are kits that allow you to make them yourself. They all mount easily to the wall and usually come with the hardware.

If most of your pictures are many colors, stick with a one color frame but if most are black and white, jazz it up with a colorful frame. The key is to have the wall collage frame feel like one art piece not like wallpaper.

If you are hanging the collage wall frame along side a staircase, like me, make sure you mimic the staircase lines. It is best to hang the frame every two stairs. This will make the art work flow and be pleasing to the eye. If you are hanging this directly on a wall experiment with different angles. Not all frames need to be in the center of the wall.

The final result of my art work turned out just as I had imagined it would. Now every time I glance at the wall, the fond memories are there for me to cherish. So start your search for the perfect collage wall frame so that your memories can be in view.
