How The Evergreen Tree Interacts With External Environment

The evergreen tree interacts beautifully with other plant and tree species. This is because the evergreen tree requires very little maintenance and does not compete with other trees and plants. The evergreen tree is commonly found in forests and along mountainsides. One will notice when walking through the woods that there is harmony and balance between the variety of tree and plant species. The evergreen is a solid tree that is not in competition for attention.

The narrow leaf evergreen tree is a graceful and simplistic tree that provides interest, texture and color year round. This type of tree interacts so well with its environment that the evergreen tree can be used as privacy screens, hedges, specimens and a backdrop for smaller flowering plants. Other plants can be planted along or around the evergreen tree.

There are certain watering and maintenance requirements that are necessary in order to maintain a healthy evergreen tree. When mixing the evergreen tree with other plants or trees it is very important not to mix the tree with a plant that has different watering requirements. This will affect the health of both the tree and the plant.

An evergreen tree that needs less moisture is one that grows on slopes. Most evergreens that are found in Colorado prefer well drained soils. The home gardener wants to avoid planting the evergreen tree in a poorly drained or soggy area. An evergreen that needs less moisture will not flourish in a lawn area. This is because the lawn requires more water than what the evergreen tree needs.

An evergreen tree that does need more moisture still needs to have planting area that is free of sod to allow for the evergreen tree to experience good root development. Sod roots are known for competing with tree roots for nutrients, water and air. When planting an evergreen tree that requires more moisture make sure to use an organic mulch over the planting area.

The evergreen tree can usually withstand dry winds, cold climates and dry spells. This is the perfect type of tree for a cool climate such as in Colorado or the eastern part of the United States, The evergreen tree requires very little maintenance. It is important with an evergreen tree to check the needles for any damage from insects or common tree diseases. A tree disease or insect can kill many evergreen trees at once. There are preventive measures that can be taken in order to stop this from happening.

An evergreen tree is the perfect accompaniment to a home garden. The evergreen tree provides privacy and does not compete with other foliage in the area. Flowers can even be planted around the evergreen tree as long as the plants require the same amount of water as the evergreen tree. An evergreen tree is a beautiful investment that adds color to the landscape any time of the year. One should never hesitate in planting an evergreen tree or plant. The evergreen tree compliments and works well with its external environment.
