Finding Jacksonville Roofing Materials
I have lived in over six houses since my family moves around so much. I never thought to notice what type of materials our roof was made of until we were in our home in Mississippi and Hurricane Katrina Hit. Our roof was torn almost completely off. We had to replace it immediately because that was only one of the many storms that hit our home during Katrina. The roof that we had was the roof that was put on our home eight years earlier when our house was built.
It was a an asphalt roof that we chose because it was supposed to be long lasting and easy to repair. However, as we found out, it wasn't as long lasting as we had hoped. As a result, we did some more research before we chose our next roofing material.
In Jacksonville, Florida, residents often find themselves in our same predicament. The main difference between the two areas, however, is that Jacksonville is much more prepared to handle the situation than our small Mississippi town. When I was researching materials, I found a website for Jacksonville roofing that provided users with up to three reputable contractors for no charge at all.
I then investigated the website and found information that I needed as well. They offered a list of the different types of roofing materials and information on each. I made my decision based on this website because I was confident in the knowledge that roofers could offer me due to their experience in the situation that we found ourselves in.
I discovered that metal roofing is almost indestructible to weather and that it has a lifespan of over fifty years. They have many color options as well as the mediums that they use. In this city roofers are very fond of this style of roofing due to the weather element as well as the freedom it provides them as far as style.
Metal roofing can be made to resemble tiles or shingles, and you can choose any finish that you want. In this city roofing contractors are also a fan of the fact that this type of roofing can be installed over the current roof for extra protection before hurricane season.
A new style that was also recommended by roofers here was fiberglass roofing. This is a completely different style than anything else on the market and has the average lifespan of about fifteen to twenty years. Many residents are fond of this style due to the little care and maintenance that it requires.
Much like metal roofing, it also comes in many colors and styles, fiberglass can be made to resemble any other style to achieve your desired appearance. The most appealing feature, however, and the main reason that this style is a favorite of roofers in this city, is that it is made to resist water and mold. This feature is perfect for the rainy season in Florida.
Many people don't know about rubber roofing. Many roofing companies were skeptical about this style in 1980 when it was first introduced. However, it has proved to be a big player in the game and is a favorite of many roofers. This style will last a long time, something that I was looking for.
It also is easy to install, which is something that roofers are looking for. You can install rubber roofing as a roll or individual shingles, whichever you prefer. You can rest assured that this style will last you a long time, and you won't have to work hard to maintain it.
