Office On The Go

In today 's hectic world, people often have to constantly be checking in with work and accepting work calls, even after hours. Some people find themselves at the office way too late and don't get home to relax and enjoy themselves. Part of the reason for this is because they have to finish all of their work before they leave the office.
If you have a home office, you can leave the office on time or early and go home. But you would still have to work, and you still waste valuable time while commuting in your car. The average commuter can spend over an hour each way, time that would be better spent working. With the new line of car desks and car offices, you can be productive even during the normally down time of rush hour.
Often called card desks or mobile car desks, these come in many different models and are meant to sit in either the front or back passenger seat and allow you to conduct work while you are waiting at traffic lights, bus stops etc. They are also helpful if you car pool, because others or even you can use the car desk to help you get a jump on your work for the day.
The most basic car office model is a small desk that looks like an office organizer. It will likely have a place for your pens and pencils, and a small cubby for file folders. No car desk would be complete without a way to store your coffee, so you can pretty much expect to find a cup holder as well.
The next step up in car desks would be one that has a pull-out area to it. These models of mobile car desks have a small pull-out space so that you can write notes on a piece of paper or as you read. This comes in handy, since often you don't have any place to put down something you are reading while in the car.
Some car desk models also have a laptop cubby. Most laptops fit perfectly into this area. It may simply be a storage area where your closed laptop can sit, or an open area over the top of the car desk that holds your opened laptop in place so you can see, read and type on it as you commute to your real office.
The fanciest of car desks have a place for a portable printer stand. Portable printers have become more compact and affordable over time, so it is only natural that some workers will want to have them in their mobile office desk. They often come with an adapter so you can plug into the lighter in your car, or others are battery operated.
For true mobility, your car office can have one or more of the above features, but on wheels. These particular mobile car desks fit easily into a carry-on size bag that also has wheels. This means you zip up your car desk, pull out the retractable handle, and take your mobile car desk with you on the airplane or train. This is great for people who take business trips and already have everything they need in the car office.
