For example, if you chose a lady bug theme for your little girls room, then you could use bold red and black on the walls, and then turn the dresser (which will easily grow up with her as it is not some miniature piece of wood) into a sleek black with hand painted insect knobs. These can be replaced later on but should add the right amount of fun for a few years.
