Home Related Programs And Resources For Massachusetts Residents

Just like any citizens from anywhere around the country, each resident has needs, in one way or another, related to housing, food, health care and other basic necessities. Having assistance in one form or another in these areas would be a valuable resource for homeowners and residents of a state, county or city. This is what the residents of this state get from the Community Resources Information, Inc. which runs a free online community assistance website that is offered to the people of Massachusetts.

The Community Resources Information Inc. is a non-profit organization that runs MassResources, an online information portal devoted to providing information for the people of Massachusetts that are in need of assistance. The website provides information on what benefits are available for them and the procedures on how to obtain these benefits. The website provides assistance in application and checks for the applicants' eligibility for these benefits. Residents can choose and learn about the various federal, state and local programs and other resources available in Massachusetts.

The following are some of the home-related benefits that are offered through this website.

*Housing

Homeownership Programs are offered to Massachusetts residents wanting to buy and repair single or multi-family homes. This great resource provides assistance to prospective homebuyers that are eligible for low mortgage interest rates.

With the alarming economic crisis reverberating across the country, an increase in foreclosure rates put more and more families in the danger of losing their homes. With the Foreclosure Prevention Programs, families having trouble making their monthly mortgage payments are provided with free counseling help that will review their mortgages and finances, and help them work out a solution with their lenders.

Low-income families and individuals are also assisted in obtaining Section 8, the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP), and the Alternative Housing Voucher Program (AHVP). These vouchers are great resources that can be used to acquire apartments that meet the requirements of these programs.

For low and middle income families, elderly and people with disabilities, subsidized privately owned housing units are also available. These housing units that are owned by private entities are paid by the government with certain subsidies to provide low rental rates that would be affordable for these families. In a similar manner, affordable public housing units are also offered to residents of Massachusetts. These are government owned structures that are offered to low and middle income families and would be a great housing resource.

*Home Care Programs

There are low-income Massachusetts residents who qualify for a nursing facility or institutional care but prefer to live at home. This includes frail seniors, people with mental retardation, and young autistic children. For this purpose, the home and community-based services waiver allows these beneficiaries to receive health care at home. In a similar manner, the Massachusetts Home Care Program provides support services for seniors and the elderly to live in their own homes independently without the need of a daily nursing care.

Other programs for home care that is available for the public includes the following. These can be accessed through the Community Resources Information Inc website.

1) MassHealth Home Health Services
2) Elder Service Plans / PACE
3) Senior Care Options
4) Home Care Assistance Program
5) Supportive Housing
6) Comprehensive Home-Based Medical Care Program

There are other services and benefits offered through this online service. Having such available resources would always make residents, and even former residents, stay and come back home to Massachusetts.
