House Cleaning Tips to Turn Your Chores Into a Party
Most of us do not associate having a party and house cleaning together. But the house cleaning tips in this article will look at combining the two. Home cleaning does not usually rank high on a list of fun things to do, in fact, it might be near the bottom of the list...somewhere around visiting the dentist. But why should cleaning the kitchen, scrubbing the bathroom, sweeping the floors, or doing the laundry be at the bottom of the list? While it may not be on the top of the list, lets see if we can move it up a little further. Instead of looking at the drudgery of the chore we decided to look at things a little differently, challenge our notion of "spring cleaning", and see if we could put a sense of fun into housekeeping.
Get Everybody Involved
It is often the case that one or two people end up with all of the cleaning chores, but many others were involved in making the messes. Mom becomes the maid while the children go about their business...probably creating more clutter and leaving a trail of dirty dishes in their wake. So, what is a party without people? Lets get everyone in the family to pitch in and help out. Choose a day sometime during the month to have a big "cleaning party" and get everybody involved. Each person will have assigned tasks, some will clean the kitchen, others the bathroom, still others might be responsible for cleaning windows or dusting. Your "party supplies" will require a trip to the store for a little shopping for the necessary supplies. Ensure you have everything on hand and establish a start time and a stop time.
What is a party without games? Create a few games that everyone can play while they are cleaning. Have the "neatest room contest" and at the end of the day judge who's room is cleaner, give a grand prize but also prizes for everyone that puts in the work. Think up your own games or other tricks to keep everyone's interest and make it fun. That is the goal, make cleaning fun for the whole family.
Crank the Music
Good, loud music is essential for a good party, and our cleaning party is no different. Everybody gets excited by good music, it will keep the energy levels up and make the day go by fast. A nice beat will keep a hop in your step and make the process of pushing a vacuum or washing the blinds a little more enjoyable.
If grade school kids are in the picture there are likely to be some debates about whose music you will listen to. It is usually best to give everyone a chance to pick the music, maybe one person chooses then the next, or organize the music selection in some other manner that everyone participates and you all get the benefit of house cleaning in a party atmosphere.
Party Food
After a hard day scrubbing the tile shower, removing carpet stains, or applying polish to hardwood floors, your will have a hungry crew on your hands. The thought of cooking might not be appealing either, so pack up the gang and reward everyone for their hard work by going to your families favorite restaurant. Let everyone know before you start cleaning and this will act as a strong motivation factor for your house cleaning chores.
Make this a real party and let the first place winner of the "cleanest room" contest pick the restaurant. This approach will certainly get a little competition going might just be the trick to get the everyone's room spotless.
Certainly the thought of scrubbing the sink or mopping your vinyl floors is not anyone's idea of fun, but by using these hints and house cleaning tips you can make cleaning the house into a party. With a little creativity and organization you can turn this usual hard work into a party.
