House Cleaning Tips

The basis for a clean house is organization, but these days with people being so busy and so pressed for time, home organization can be a real challenge. Piled up papers, a collection of garbage that is past due for removal, toys that are not played with anymore, and clothes that dont fit are just some of the common things that plague many houses. Even though it seems to be getting harder and harder these days to find the time for cleaning, there are a lot of tips and ideas that can really help make things a whole lot easier for everyone.

The first thing that you need to do in order to clean your house is to just get going with it! Get some trash bags and boxes and make sure that you dont fall prey to the evil of inaction. Even a small action can help a lot more than you may think. Many experts recommend that you start with three piles when going through your house. One pile will be to keep and find a place for, the second pile should be stuff that you need to get rid of or sell, and the third pile will be the pile that goes into garbage bags and put out for trash. The easiest pile to get rid of is of course the trash. The other piles take a bit more time to go through. The pile of things that you need to get rid of can be tossed in boxes or bags and donated to a resale store. Then you have to go through everything in your pile of things to keep to get the stuff where it is all supposed to be. Once you have dissipated the piles, your house will already look a lot cleaner!

Another good piece of advice is this: For organization and to avoid a cluttered look, a good rule of thumb is that if you continually bump into something when you walk by it, or if you have to step over something while you walk, you have got to move it! If you move the things that are in your way, youll find that youll have to spend a lot less effort just moving around, and you never know you may also find that it will inspire you to rearrange things in your home which often leads to cleaning! The more clear places you have in your home, the easier it will be for you to keep it clean.

There are a lot of people that suggest you keep two pieces of things that need to be washed, like two mattress pads, two table cloths, bath mats and towels, and other things like that. This way, while you are washing one set you wont have a pile of mess on the floor while you are waiting. Take the mattress pad, for example. Instead of leaving all of your sheets, pillows, and blankets on the floor while you are washing the mattress pad, you can just put the other one on, make up your bed, and be off and running with your room nice and tidy.

Finally, another good idea involves your supply of cleaning products and materials. If you have a home with more than one floor, you have got to keep a set of supplies on all of the floors. This way you wont waste time and energy running up and down stairs for supplies, and youll also be more apt to clean. If you notice something upstairs that needs cleaning real quick but your supplies are downstairs, chances are pretty good that you wont be cleaning that at that point, whereas if the supplies were up there with you, you can just grab them and clean what you need to really quick. When you take a minute to think about things that you can do to make your cleaning easier, your house will stay cleaner longer, which can improve your whole life!
