Master Bedrooms And Custom Closets -- Decorating Rules For Creating A Trendy Space

The master bedrooms your parents slept in are nothing like the trendy sleeping quarters of today. These spaces look more like a luxurious hotel room, complete with large custom closets, well-planned decor, and other conveniences in an effort to create a space that suits the individual residents. Regardless of the decorating style, comfort is among the most common themes in today's bedrooms.

Using The Convenience Of Self Contained Spaces

When people are looking to relax and unwind, they want to do it all without having to leave the privacy and comfort of their bedroom. Spaces, such as mini bars and kitchenettes, are being included in these designs, complete with coffee machines and toasters. For a relaxing or romantic evening, many people are creating intimate feelings with balconies and fireplaces. The 'masters' of the bedroom can spend the entire day unwinding in their areas rather than just using them specifically for storage or sleeping.

Creating Intimate Areas

Sitting rooms are making their way back into favor with amateur and professional decorators to the point they have almost become standard in new homes. These spaces along with the sleeping portions of the room may have splashes of color, but overall, they are designed to have a comforting and calming effect. In many cases, electronics are relocated to other parts of the home in an effort to maintain this effect. If they are included, they are often kept in custom closets or enclosed in other furniture items to keep them hidden until they are needed. Other items such as balconies and fireplaces are used to increase the romantic feeling in the air. The current trend is to designate this part of the home as a place specifically for sitting peacefully.

Luxury Means Convenience

After dedicating a large portion of their daily schedule to the demands of daily life, releasing stress and pressure is a high priority. This means the less work household members have to do to get what they want the better. The appearance of adjustable beds is just one example. Individuals can watch television, read, sleep, have a drink, or just relax all in one spot in perfect comfort.

Lighting and other necessities are being placed where they can be reached easily or can be controlled by a universal touch pad. A device that appears similar to a pocket PC controls everything in the bedroom from the curtains and lighting to the television and media players with a single touch. Smaller items in a room, such as the sheets, are coming in luxury organic cotton or with wrinkle free options.

Bedrooms Designed For All

Compromise is no longer needed in today's trendy sleeping quarters. Items such as custom closets, for example, are being divided or there is a separate one for each person. Even sitting rooms are separated into areas that cater to the needs of each individual. The only thing that unifies the space is a common, neutral decor.

Modern master bedroom decor has no standard set of rules or trends. Instead, they are being based on the specific needs and tastes of the individuals. Being comfortable, convenient, and calming for everyone is really the only basic rule for trendy bedrooms. For those building a new home or remodeling an existing one, everything needs to fit the requirements of each area resident including custom closets. Chicago designers and others throughout the country say that this is today's definition of true luxury.
