Short Cuts for Easy House Cleaning
Even though few people truly love to clean their house, there are some people that dont mind it as much as other people do. It can often seem like housecleaning is a chore that takes hours, is frustrating, and also never ending, but there are a lot of things that you can do to improve the quality of your work while you cut down on the time that you spend on working around your home. There are many tips and tricks out there that you may want to try, especially when you need to finish the house work before you are free to do other, more enjoyable things.
First of all, many experts recommend that instead of reserving or spending an entire day or two a week to clean, separate the job into a couple of groups. For example, on Tuesdays you could take 45 minutes and clean the top floor. On Fridays you could give the main floor a good cleaning, or something similar to that.
Lint rollers are things that can be so great for more than just rolling over clothing to remove hair and lint. Try dusting your lampshades and cloth window treatments with one. They work fast and are effective at picking up all of that hair and dust, and you wont have to mess with the big vacuum. These are also fantastic when it comes to trying to get the pet hair out of couches and chairs. Many times a regular vacuum absolutely will not get that hair out, but if you roll over your furniture with a lint roller, you will find that the hair comes up really quickly and very easily in no time at all.
Another handy tip is to not use paper towels or wash cloths when you are cleaning glass and mirrors. Youll save money on paper towels, youll be recycling the newspaper, and the quality of your mirrors will improve big time with newspapers because they do a better job getting the muck off of glass with very few streaks. The ink on the newspaper will not come off all over the place, either. If there is a day when you are out of window cleaner and dont want to run out anywhere to get any, you can use vinegar. It is an affordable and effective solution to use with little to no streaks in the end, too.
When you are going to wipe down and clean out the inside of a refrigerator and freezer, try using a solution of baking soda and water to eliminate odors and scrub away grime. Even though baking soda and vinegar are both useful, cheap, and powerful cleansers, be careful that you never mix the two, unless you are doing a science experiment. Mixing the two will cause a reaction that is not harmful but will leave you with quite a mess to clean up, which of course defeats the purpose of using cleaning short cuts!
Washing dishes is one of the least favorite chores for people to do, no matter if they live alone or have a large family. It is a very useful idea to keep a sink full of hot soapy water when you begin cooking a meal. This way, the food on dishes will never have the chance to harden, the food will be so much easier to remove, and you will spend far less time and energy slaving over the sink and have more time to do the more important things in life. House cleaning tips like these make a lot of sense and are simple to incorporate into your cleaning routine that you are already accustomed to.
