Five Things to Promise Your Customers in 2009

The world abounds with promises. In love, politics, or in anything else promises are constantly made in life. Whether always fulfilled is a topic for another forum for another day. However, it's a fact that promises, when fulfilled, do make life more enjoyable.

Concerning affiliate marketing, you too can make promises. These promises are to your customers. Fulfilling these promises is your route to affiliate marketing success. The following are five things to promise your affiliate-marketing customers in 2009:

Promise to Keep Them Apprised of New Products and Upgrades of Current Products

Do you write a weekly or monthly newsletter? Do you engage in regular e-mail marketing campaigns? Then these are perfect avenues for keeping your customers abreast of new affiliate products or upgrades on the horizon.

People like to keep current. People who frequent your website in search of products expect you to keep them informed. You are their source for what new products your program is offering. You are their source concerning upgrades or accessories for products they already own.

You build a loyal following when people perceive your website as always current. Through newsletters and e-mail campaigns, encourage your customers to visit your website often. Notify them whenever your website lists new or upgraded affiliate products. When you keep your customers apprised, they have no need to look elsewhere for these products.

Promise To Keep Them Informed on Topics Related to Your Affiliate Products

This is different than keeping them informed about the actual products. Here, you convey useful information, which relates to products. A great way to keep your target market informed is through article writing and article marketing. You can also post excellent informative content in the form of articles on your blog or website.

You may market a super multivitamin. Your customers no doubt buy this product because they feel it's beneficial to their health. Do they know precisely how the product helps them? Your job is to inform them. Your article on how vitamin C builds up the immune system is something they probably want and need to know.

Here you offer more than just your affiliate product. You offer essential information related to your affiliate product. You have now given added value to the product you promote.

Promise to deliver Them Quality in All Aspects of Your Affiliate Business

Quality must be the mindset that permeates your online business. You must deliver quality products through to quality content based on your products. In addition, quality customer service to those who contact you through your website is of major importance as well.

Quality must be part of the little things you do as an affiliate marketer too. This means adhering to forum protocol when posting on social networks. It means responding to comments left on your blog to encourage further dialog with potential customers. Quality is simply offering the best products with a commitment to serving your customers through all aspects of the buying process.

Promise to Back-up What You Promote

This is really an extension of the quality mindset. However, this is your attitude and responsiveness to customers after they buy. Often you are just a conduit between the customer and the affiliate parent. You will find that customers who reach an affiliate through your website may come back to you for information. They search for products and research information on your website. Hence, they may e-mail you with concerns and questions.

As an affiliate marketer, you have an obligation to serve them and answer questions and concerns. Offer your advice and tips, as you are able. In addition, go to bat for a customer who is having trouble contacting an affiliate parent or voicing their concerns about a product. If you promote a product on your website, stand behind it and be responsive to customer concerns.

Promise To Be Accessible

To be responsive you must be accessible to your customers. People do not want to deal with ghost marketers. If you have a website make sure your customers can contact you. Provide a physical address, email address, a phone number, or at least one of these three. Be transparent. Let your customers know who you are and how they can easily reach you. They will trust dealing with you when you provide them contact information.

Consider the above promises you can make to your customers. Make 2009 the year that you go the extra mile for those you hope will buy your affiliate products. Make promises, keep them, and watch your affiliate marketing business grow.
